8. Obviously, to pick it apart, at least those parts that are a slur
Google "Democratic plan for New Orleans." apparently there are 11 news articles...

"...Democratic Senator Jim Webb to Give Democratic Response Says Katrina Should Be A National Priority. "Virginia Senator Jim Webb says rebuilding New Orleans ...

16. I hope they do, but I have not heard...it should have been in the 100 hours
I honestly believe that Bush is using politics in giving federal aid, refusing to help democratic areas while giving aid to Republican areas. It is reprehensible, and likely illegal and we should be shouting from the rooftops about it.

14. I imagine a plan is being discussed

now that the dems have power.

By the way, sorry your good question was
sabotaged by petty posters. This is the first
time I've seen this question and it's an important
one. Our new congress needs to publicly address this
(with a detailed plan).

11. Well, Lieberman is an 'independent' but his plan is to ignore the gulf
coast. He was selected by the Dems to be the new chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Lieberman abandons push for Katrina accountability
Has Sen. Joe Lieberman sold out on his campaign promise to hold the Bush regime accountable for its disastrous mishandling of Hurricane Katrina in order to serve as the Democratic lackey for its unpopular Iraq surge strategy?

Reporters Michael Isikoff and Mark Hosenball examine that question in a Newsweek Web exclusive titled "Bush's Best Democratic Buddy: Joe Lieberman gives the president a pass on Katrina." They point out that the Connecticut lawmaker, the only Democrat to endorse Bush's new Iraq plan, "has quietly backed away from his pre-election demands that the White House turn over potentially embarrassing documents relating to its handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans":

But the decision by Lieberman, the new chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, to back away from the committee's Katrina probe is already dismaying public-interest groups and others who hoped the Democratic victory in November would lead to more aggressive investigations of one of the White House's most spectacular foul-ups.

Lieberman spokesperson Leslie Phillips told the reporters that the senator -- an independent Democrat who now holds the power to subpoena the relevant records -- "intends to focus his attention on the future security of the American people and other matters and does not expect to revisit the White House's role in Katrina."

18. Where?
Kidding...

As one who lived in Nawlins for 6 years (worked at WWL), I can guess that there are many plans for New Orleans and the Gulf Coast where money that is projected to be spent in Iraq would be diverted to our own country.

I love New Orleans. I've bought into a condo with another person the the Quarter (that's all I can afford at the moment) and want to pitch in and help when I can.

Hopefully we can see some real, tangible plans to help out the Katrina-thrashed zone without the usual suspects stealing the proceeds. I hate to say it, but it's going to take a long time before it's anywhere near what it used to be.

22. Truly! No time like the present.
The same time could have been spent googling which was spent composing and posting the o.p., and in taking shots at Democrats who resent the use of the right-wing, shoddy grammer mangling.
