name? are we supposed to forget "plamegate"? when did the media start referring to her as valerie wilson? I even heard KO do it, which surprised me.

1. Good question.
When KO did it, I wondered if it was because he knew the couple preferred it for some reason now, because they felt it presented more of a united front during current events (after all, the fact that they are married plays a central role in the whole issue). I really do not know. All I do know is, if KO is using it, I'm inclined to think that on his part it has nothing to do with any attempt to make people forget anything. It's more than likely to remind people "Hey, her career was thrown under the bus BECAUSE OF WHO SHE WAS MARRIED TO."

2. Maybe she used her maiden name professionally?
...but used her married name in her private life? Lots of professional women do that.

4. The "Plame" name came from the leak - it was a WH goof
She actually goes, and went, by the name Valerie Wilson.

5. I don't know.
Much of the 'leaking' referred to her as Wilson's wife or Mrs. Wilson or even Valerie Wilson--and that's the stage they're at, mostly, in Libby's trial. The usage may reflect what she wants, what's needed to make trial coverage simplest, or something else entirely.

Novak, quoting Who's Who, referred to her as Plame (I've checked, and it really did say Valerie Plame was Joseph Wilson's wife). AFAIK, most Who's Who article rely on self-reporting or publicly reported inforamtion. She donated money to Gore's campaign and gave her own name as Valerie Plame, listing her employer as Brewster Jennings.

She may have done what my wife does. Professionally, she's usually Miss Sugarglider; outside of her profession, she's sometimes Miss Sugarglider and sometimes she's Mrs. Igil. But the bounds and limits of her professional life seem to shift over time and by context, so I usually let her introduce herself.
