Is John Grisham consulting with Edwards?
When I listen to Edwards stump speech where he is personalizing the plight of workers losing their jobs and self respect, it struck me that the way he delivers and resonates the message is very reminiscent of the extraordinarily gripping summary argument by the lawyer in A Time To Kill.

It's the scene where the lawyer is asking the jury to picture a little girl being mercilessly brutalized, tortured, and raped. Image what horrors she experienced in the last moment of her life, and feel her pain. And then image that she is white.

The contexts of these messages is completely different obviously, but it just strikes me that the way Edwards draws the audience in with the idea of shared pain and resolution to do something together has the same pull as that lawyer in Grisham's novel.

So I wondered if Grisham is collaborating or whether Edwards is simply pulling from his experience as a trial lawyer with expertise in persuading juries, a topic that Grisham writes about extensively.

1. Well, Edwards was considered possibly the best trial lawyer in the nation
So, I think it's built in to him.
