No matter what the right-wing claims we have had a plan for Iraq for a long time
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 12:21 PM by MN Against Bush
Our plan is very simple.

End the occupation, end the killing, end the torture, arrest the criminals who brought about the bloodshed, and bring the troops home now.

They want a plan for victory? Well too bad, because no victory can come from this immoral and unconscionable war. We have already lost, we lost the moment the first bomb was dropped. It was those brought us into this war who lost the war, and we can not reincarnate all the people they killed. We can not sew the arms and legs of children who had their limbs blown off by our bombs back on again. We can not stop the grieving of a parent who lost their only child because Bush decided they would make good cannon fodder.

We have a plan, but it is not a plan for victory it is a plan for accountability and it is a plan for peace. It is the right-wing that does not have a plan. The only plan they have ever given is "stay the course" and their course has been such a disaster that they are afraid to even use that phrase anymore. So instead they talk about their "surge" which is really "stay the course but kill even more people". And when that plan fails, well then guess what we get next "stay the course and invade Iran as well". It doesn't matter how many people get killed, it doesn't matter that our country doesn't have the resources to even keep this war going much less start a new one, it doesn't matter that most of the chickenhawks who sit around cheering for their so-called "President" refuse to fight their own damn war, it only matters that they have their talking points and they can accuse the rest of us of not having a plan.

Well I have had enough. I demand the corporate media stops claiming we do not have a plan and starts facing the facts. Our plan for peace was right from the beginning, and their plan for war was wrong from the beginning. The problem is not that "mistakes may have been made" the problem is that the entire thing was wrong to begin with.

We do have a plan Mr. Bush, we have plan to see your war brought to an end and we have a plan to see you making a trip to the Hague. Now it is time the corporate media stops denying that such a plan exists.

3. Peak Oil
Do you even know what `Peak Oil' refers to? It's about the
impending economic collapse of your country beginning in about
the year 2010. It's the one and only reason the US is in Iraq
- the reason the US MUST be in Iraq and the reason why
Democrat leaders will come to ensure the US STAYS in Iraq.
Your country is attempting to buy time to find a
cost-effective alternative to oil. Oil production is predicted
to peak in 2010. Growth in oil production will no longer be in
step with increasing world demand. The price of oil will
sky-rocket and trigger a devastating economic decline from
which there will be no recovery. This is the consensus of
physicists and engineers, not fantasy.

No matter how much anger or antagonism you may feel, I beg you
to look into it -

4. Oh believe me I know about Peak Oil
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 01:51 PM by MN Against Bush
I did a paper on it a couple years ago for my environmental studies class. Oil is a big reason for the war no doubt, perhaps the only real reason. They were trying to steal Iraq's oil but they failed, and they will not be able to take Iran's oil by force either. It is not that easy to steal a countries oil when there are people there who are trying to bomb your oil rigs.

On edit: And by the way welcome to DU, it is good to have another person who brings the topic of peak oil to people's attention.
