How Web Support Failed Dean in Crunch: Ex-Manager
An interesting story from Reuter's Internet feed (there was another post, now locked, linking to a Wired take on the same).

One very interesting point: how the blog has made it more difficult to run traditional campaign actions, such as advertising, without your opponent knowing your every move.

This is the old "do I put my guys daily schedule on the daybook or not" debate those who've done media in the past might recognize, in a modern context.

Lots of other interesting tidbits, but why not read it yourself.

DISCLAIMER: A Dean Guy 'Till I Die. (But will vote ABB).

1. Trippie is a traitor and is doing what he can to undercut
Dean. He was likely a mole all along.

4. trippi is the same guy
that spent, like, $40 Million in Iowa.
pretty much disqualifies him from any "Political Wonk" position,
and disqualifies him as an "analyst," as far as i'm concerned. - evil

2. I guess Trippi's passing the buck and the blame on the internet?

Wow. That was fast.

I dont understand this article because its tries to appease establishment by denigrating grassroots, and then it turns around and pats grassroots on the head by saying how successful it has been.

Dont understand Trippis quick turnaround and I guarantee he wouldnt be saying this deal is over in Wisconsin if he were still on the team. But, hes not on the team anymore.

He is on the MSNBC team now. Will he become another George Stephanopolus? Looks like hes going that way.

I hope that is not the outcome, however, for him to scapegoat the internet and grassroots off on what where his own failings have ocurred is fair-weathered, two-faced, and lacks accountability.

3. So why pass the buck to Trippi? 'Dean support' failed Dean.
Does Dean get any blame for failing?

6. Trippi is just giving his honest analysis of what went down
He's not blaming anybody.
