It's obvious how much voters really despise Bush
What strikes me when I read interviews with voters is how many say they absolutely can't stand Bush. They say nice things about our candidates, too, but their reaction to Bush is so viscerally negative. They don't just think he's a poor president, they can't stand the guy, period, and they're chomping at the bit to kick his ass in November.

1. Well, that is the attitude we have to have, to win.
I just worry that the swing voters don't share that hatred of bush. They are the ones who actually decide the election.

I remember in 1984, a lot of people hated Ronnie as well, but more LIKED him. I worry that the same thing will happen this year.

2. Actually, Bush is doing quite poorly among
independents, and many of them have voted in the primaries. I strongly suspect the hardcore anti-Bush vote will at least match the wingnut pro-Bush vote in November.

3. I saw a clip with some of the exit polls tonight (from Russert)
and they are up in the 84% of dislike for the chimp and his policies. Russert was going on how the democrats are united unlike anything he has ever seen.

People are pissed.

4. I have never seen such outright criticism of a president then I have
seen here within the past six months. People are talking , with energy and passion about Bush and his evil policies all over the place--the library, the supermarket, on the street on e-mail, and even after a church attendance . I do not recall this much resistamce, contempt amd anger toward a president and it stands to reason , actually, because this man was never really elected by vote. He was propelled into office by the five cronies of his father on the Supremem Court. Rhenquist, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and O'Connor

their names will go down in infamy and be forever dirtied by their accepting the responsibility for the propulsion of this ignoramus of a man onto the office of the presidency of the United States.

Can we please, now, oust this stupid man and his inane , insipid rictus smiling wife out of our house?

5. Worried About Swing Voters Taking Half-Measures
I know how I feel about the incumbent regime. I find that I detest it far more than I did even Ronzo's (Although I developed a grudging respect for Nancy Reagan for being a savvy operator and opponent by 1988) and will vote against it this autumn.

My concern is that too many swing voters will say to themselves "Gee, I don't like George W. Bush, but I guess my Republican congressional representative or Republican senator is OK so I'll vote for them anyway even if I vote against George."

George Deucey-U Bush is just part of what the right-wing Republican Party and its "Conservative" movement allies are doing to the rest of the country and the rest of the planet. We need to sweep a lot more politicos than George Dubya out the door. We need to convince those swing voters to clean house.

7. I agree
but the Dem would have to win the presidency by a decent margin for that to happen, I think.

8. I don't "hate" bush....
I think that he is our sick brother. We must come to view him like Martin Luther King, Jr., viewed Bull Connor: as a emotionally disturbed, morally ill man with a bad habit of lashing out violently when he feels challenged. Hate will not help our society. Just the opposite: hatred contaminates the container which holds it. When we stop hating him and his ilk, we will remove their ability effect our society in their diseased manner.

Walk into the average church, though, and you'll run smack dab into hordes of Bush fanatics because, like so many other americans, they get entranced with one issue (in this case, abortion) and will support anyone who shares their view on that issue. I'm dead serious, I know people who lap up every word Bush spews like it's honey, and they defend it to the core.
