Anymore scoop on a Dean/Clark alliance?
I noticed that Clark cancelled a fundraiser for tomorrow. Rumors have been flying all week that he might drop out after tonight's primaries in TN and VA. Some of the Bloggers have been casting speculation of an alliance with Dean to head off the Kerry Stampede. Anyone on the board have some news about this?

4. This would be the political equivalent
...of parachuting into the Super Bowl, media-exposure-wise.

5. I think it would be a great strategy for both camps
I truly believe that Wes Clark could be enticed into being a VP under the right circumstances. Today he called Kerry, Edwards, and Dean all patriots. Of these three the logical match would either be Kerry or Dean in order to geographically balance the ticket. However, philosophically, Kerry and Clark don't match up because of the issue of the Iraq war. Only Dean has the outsider credentials that would not conflict with Clark's position as an outsider. Were Dean and Clark to hook up as a package, I believe they would represent a formidable combination and a true choice when compared with Kerry. A sort of Mr. Outsider versus Mr. Insider. Clark would also help balance the public's perception of Dean being a liberal (only perception, but we know that perception is reality). Clearly Dean has the fundraising capabilities to keep the campaign alive until the convention and then fight it out there.
