1. Insanity
I totally agree - now it's OK to hang people again.
Unbelievable. What an insane time we live in.

That woman wouldn't know dignified or the truth if it slapped her in the face.

3. Well, "dignified" is a stretch
but it sure could have been a bit better controlled.

6. The words "dignified" and "Rice" in one sentence should be banned on DU
Condi would only be dignified if she resigned immediately and confessed for being an absolute failure.

10. You read my exact thoughts
The public airings of these hangings make me want to throw up. I cannot believe we are seeing and hearing these things on public airways. I have told many conservatives I know don't ever let me hear any complaints about sex or profanity on television or the radio. Violence is surely much more disturbing.

I just jumped from a forum with multiple threads on today's hangings because these discussions make me ill. I was thinking the exact words as the title of your thread. But consider the source of the quote. This is the same person who looked into the cameras a few weeks ago and said, "We have war because there is an absence of peace."

How shall we ever regain civility and intelligence in our government and on our airways in the aftermath of the Bush* occupancy? Are these two commodities permanently squelched by its influence?

11. Hussein should not have been heckled seconds before

he was hanged, and photos of the hanging and of his body should not have been taken. That would have made the barbaric act as dignified as possible. They also could have waited to pull the trap until he finished his second prayer.

But considering the way we displayed the bodies of his sons, I don't think we have any room to say the Iraqis were undignified in their treatment of Hussein's execution.

13. We're on such a slippery slope - may as well ski down Mt. Everest
Now that we've had a televised (U.S. sanctioned) execution, mark my words, it's just a matter of time before it's a routine here in the good ol' US of A.

I'm sick at my stomach every time I think about it...
