A Clark fundraiser in Houston tomorrow has been cancelled. Looks like he'll be exiting the race soon.

7. OK - Actually I don't want to see anyone drop out
I think no matter who you support the debate will keep the public's attention on the Democrats and on their criticisms of Bush.

12. Cuz as the Dean campaign has shown...
...pulling out of events does not equal dropping out of the race. Kos should know that better than anyone :hi:

As for Clark, I'm planning on attending a fundraiser in Chicago on Thursday. If he's dropping out, we haven't gotten the memo yet :)

8. Dang it, can we hold off on the obituaries until somebody's dead?
I don't object to reporting that the fundraiser has been cancelled, but that doesn't mean that Clark is out of the race. Stuff like this just antagonizes the Clark supporters (or the supporters of whatever candidate is being given a "fast count"). Let's just wait for the outcome, please.

significant that a candidate would drop a fundraiser at this point. Please don't blame the messenger.

13. It's OK. Money is not Clark's top priority, he's getting it online
What Clark needs is results. It is more important for him to show up for campaigning in Wisconsin than to go to a Texas fundraiser. Money will keep coming in if he finishes well enough tonight, and if he doesn't than one fundraiser in Texas is not all that significant anyway.

14. Reuters says he's staying! Fundraiser only postponed
...In an e-mail to campaign workers, Clark said that after Tuesday's presidential primary voting in Tennessee and Virginia, "It's on to Wisconsin," which holds its electoral contest on Feb. 17.

15. My friend said he'd be having a rally in Houston before the Texas primary.
Maybe they decided to consolidate the dates for convenience?

CLARK IS NOT DROPPING OUT! BTW the people who gave up their paychecks for a week did it to show Clark that THEY believe in him. Just in case anyone wants to repeat what they heard from the media today. :)
