So does Bill Clinton get the SOS job under Hillary?
I wonder will she pull the Bill card and say he'll be the Sec'y of State in her administration? It'll probably make the party and the rest of the world pretty happy, I'd have to say. Although I'm lukewarm to Hillary, no one else but Bill Clinton would be able fix up the shit Bush has caused.

1. Nope. Bobby Bill.
Relatives of Presidents are no longer considered eligible for cabinet posts.

7. They wrote that law after Bobby left the AG's office. But I wonder if they wouldn't recind it...
...you know, if the new president asked them to. I imagine they would. A president deserves to select the people she, or he, wants.

That said, Big Dog would not be an ideal choice.

13. I don't want that law rescinded. It kept Jeb in Florida.
And, IF Hillary becomes President, Bill will have all his First Husband duties. It'll be nice to see him re-define that unpaid, unsung office.

12. Another piece of short-sighted Republican legislation.
Preserving us from a cabinet-level Jeb. They never think it's gonna bite their own asses.

19. What I'm wondering is....
...if Cheney dies or retires, will the Bobby Bill prevent * from naming Jeb as his new veep?

I ask as a hypothetical, since we all know it would be Weezy Rice getting the job.

"The Cookies of Racial Harmony"

Named as a joke by a friend of mine years ago, these cookies feature multiple flavors. As it was jokingly put, "the whites, the blacks, the browns, and the reds all join together in harmony."

2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 bag (10 oz) Reese's Peanut Butter flavored chips
1 cup Nestle's Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips.
1/3 cup white chocolate chips
1/3 cup butterscotch flavored chips
1/3 cup Hershey's Raspberry Chocolate Chips OR Nestle's Raspberry/Semi Sweet swirled chips.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla together in large mixer bowl. Add egg and egg yolk, beating well after each. Gradually beat in flour mixture. When well mixed, add peanut butter morsels slowly, followed by Toll House and the other morsels, mixing well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto parchment paper or ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for at least 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely.

Yield: About 4 dozen cookies, enough to share.

8. I'd love to see Bill Clinton as SoS in a Clark administration.
If Clark doesn't run...I'd love to see Bill anywhere the whitehouse and the whole world would rejoice to have him back. He'd accompany her everywhere so we'd all get Bill again. That'd almost be like having him for a third term. I'll take Hillary to get him. However, my first choice is Wes in the oval office...maybe Hillary as VP and Clinton as SoS. I'd be happy with that!

9. Hillary will not let Bill have any post to upstage her highness
He cannot even campaign with her because he upstages her and it highlights her extreemly boring speaking style.
Bill was a good prez but, you cannot go home again. to do so always invites pain and disaster.
Better we look to the future and to what's new. we have plenty of great candidates and personally, if Clark or Richardson do not get in or win they are both excellent candidates for Sec. of state.

10. I don't think Bill would be allowed to have any cabinet post.
Since any of them could conceivably become President, I wouldn't think a former 2 term President could be SecDef,SecState, etc.

14. Anyone in the normal line of succession who is ineligible to be president is simply not counted
in the line of succession, but they can hold the post. For example, as Secretaries of State, Henry Kissinger and Madeleine Albright would normally have been in the line of succession, but because they were foreign born, they were excluded - but that did not affect their eligibility to be cabinet officers.

However, in 1967, Congress passed the Anti-Nepotism Act, 5 U.S.C. § 3110, which prohibits a public official (including the President) "from employing, appointing, promoting, advancing or advocating for appointment, employment promotion or advancement any relative for a civilian position in the agency in which the public official is serving."

15. Well I guess he could be a special Middle East envoy
Bill has so much credibility in that part of the world. He could just be a special envoy and go over there and fix that mess.
