John Edwards is going for the JUGULAR on McCain
He has a good slogan THE MCCAIN DOCTRINE. Say it long enough and he defines McCain even before he announces he's a candidate

14. ChiciB1, I'll support John Edwards, but that Avatar has to go
He's too handsome to have that kooky looking photo. If they get a new avatar, I would be willing to put
it on my messages.:hi:

16. Hey, I DO Agree... I Just Made A Comment About That Earlier
tonight. Some others have some better ones, but I haven't checked to see if they are in the DU library!

But the avatar is pretty raw! He's much better looking, and in person.... WELL! Not my reason for supporting him, but he does have a way to make the ladies swoon! I would like to think I'm past that stage in my life! Before him it was Bobby Kennedy for me! I'm a Boomer and have been around for a while. My first election to vote in was McGovern.

24. As we all know; looks and charisma are a huge part of winning
I'm so old now, looks shouldn't matter, but they do. My three offspring are baby boomers, and I'm 74
years old. Edwards was good on the Leno show. He has a smile and attitude that can't be beat.

25. I DO Agree With You... He's A Looker, & Even Better In Person!
I will admit that I did everything I could, probably stepped on a few toes as I made my way forward to shake his hand when I saw him "up close & personal!" But, I didn't say I would never wash my hand after that!

It was exciting though!

I adore Edwards:loveya:

I think tagging an escalation as the "McCain Doctrine" is a great political move.

5. Unless Democrats go for the juglar
they are not worth our time. Repukes have been winning for over 20 years by going for the juglar. As soon as Congress ends, time to get nasty.

8. attack
I like Edwards, at least he's a fighter and is willing to attack his opponents, unlike the weakling stuttering Kerry.

21. Seen together at any debate in 2004
Kerry was definately not a weakling next to Edwards. By the time the debates got down to Kerry, Edwards and Kuchinich - it was very evident that Kerry was far better.

Kerry's attack on Bush were far better than anything Edwards did and that is why he beat Edwards in the primaries.

9. when this surge fails - and it will
McCain will look like as big a jackass as Bush himself. Maybe not right away, but if it's repeated again and again and certainly over the life of a presidential campaign.

17. What is interesting here is that being pro-war is seen as a
political liability, which it is, and that Edwards is willing to use that political club on McCain.

26. The McCain doctrine
Agree, it's a nice preemptive strike on McCain and a wise spear into the insane idea of escalation.

Edwards is calling on Congress to block any funds for an escalation. You can sign the petition here: http://johnedwards.com/
