McCain make Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" list

‘We will win this conflict. We will win it easily’

Posted 12:05 pm | Printer Friendly | Spotlight

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, reading a Think Progress post nearly word for word last night, reminded me that it’s time to update the list of John McCain’s flip-flops. From last night’s Countdown:

The winner (of the daily Worst Person in the World) is Sen. John McCain (R) of Arizona, (who) told us today that he knew that the war in Iraq war was “probably going to be long and hard and tough,” and that he was “sorry” for anybody who voted it thinking it would be “some kind of an easy task.”

Snip...

Sen. McCain on this network on Jan. 22, 2003: “We will win this conflict. We will win it easily.”

What’s that’s called again? Flip-flopping? Senator, we keep all the tapes of these interviews. C’mon!

Of course, you know what this means — it’s time to update the list of McCain’s biggest flip-flops as he transforms himself from maverick hero to right-wing hack. We’re up to 13 now.

* McCain went from saying he would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade to saying the exact opposite.

2. Why isn't McCain sorry for those who enforced what Congress passed?

IE, the Executive.

THEY were the ones who said Iraqis would greet us as Liberators and that we would be out in months.

3. That Scoundrel Olberman!
It's hardly fair to judge McCain by taking his own words at face value and then using them against him when he contradicted himself!!!

We all know facts have a liberal bias!

5. McCain's the biggest whore in DC and would say anything
that he thinks would ingratiate himself to the right wingnuts that he thinks will nominate and elect him. He's about as despicable a whore on capital hill as anyone, and in my opinion, is as unelectable a candidate as there is. His soft-spoken, thoughtful, concerned american act is about as big a fraud as there is, and I can't imagine anyone being so shallow as to believe anything that comes out of his mouth ever again.

13. is there a time line that shows when McCain
began his toadying for BUSHCO?
if i remember it correctly his son was sent to Iraq, before Sen Webb's
i would not put it beyond the BFEE to use that to bring McCain to heel.
its interesting that his son's unit has been relatively out of harms way - like there is a no-harms-way location in Iraq -
and even before that gross hug of the Der Chimpinator during Katrina McCain had started IV'ing the Koolaid.

wonder if the safety of his son is playing a part in this.

last night on Keith's show he had Arianna Huffington on she said that the words he spoke at the AEI were not his thats why he flubbed them.
maybe he is being squeezed.

i am not trying to make excuses for the guy - just wondering

6. As Keith as said, McCain was among those that thought Iraq would be a cake walk
while now he is saying that he always said we didn't have enough troops to go in.

McCain and his twin Lieberman at the AEI. What an axis of neocon evil!

8. McCain also said
he'd kill himself if the Dems took Congress.

"I'd just commit suicide..."

He flip-flopped on that too.

15. Kinda makes you wonder if Bushco doesn't have some dirt on McCain.
How else can you explain someone doing such an about face to become such an ass-kissing whore.
