My Head Is Going To Explode- Help Me With Refuting This RW-BS Email
Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 10:17 AM by we can do it
This came unbelievably from one of my democratic buddies - wtf- I am sure she didn't read it before forwarding...I have started to work on this- Please help if you can- thanks-

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

< No- It would be better if not elected-but selected pResident Boosh admitted to the US that he made a giant mistake in starting an illegeal war in Iraq a country who posed no threat to us and was in no way involved in 9/11 and had no WMDS, needlessly killing and maiming our military & gutting the US economy for years to come only for the betterment of his war-profiteering friends. >

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

< Since the American people have made it clear in November that the wasting of lives has got to stop, I will finally listen to the people I WORK FOR >

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq . This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2 Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come.

If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin." Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. God bless America. Thank you and good night.

(Please forward this to at least ten friends; let's get this to every USA computer!)

1. Well, maybe they were trying
to warn Shrub what he was getting into, but once again the idiot-in-chief wouldn't hear anything he didn't want to hear.

3. Its almost laughable.
Foreign "aid"? Yeah, we just give money away because we are so nice.

Alaska taking care of our oil needs for decades?

While I can appreciate the frustration you must feel, I think you might be better off just letting this one go. Whoever wrote this was either joking (Colbert Report) or is so naive that you should expect that they also believe in the tooth fairy.

4. Foreign aid totals almost $30B per year; Iraq War: $1,000B
Edited on Sat Jan-06-07 10:25 AM by nuxvomica
That wouldn't make a dent in the Iraq War costs!

10. Heck, I'd believe in the Tooth Fairy before I'd believe anything
Bush has to say.

6. Sounds like a neocons wet dream.
Using a spending cuts as an excuse to attack Mexico and threaten other countries. So typical of neocons.

But if we stop our aid to foreign countries, shouldn't we return the aid we got from them? Chavez is still selling reduced price heating oil to our poor. Not to mention aid they provided for Katrina.

As if we have had an impact on terrorism aside from increasing the number of terrorists. Us pulling out of this charade of war on terror would probably reduce terrorism.

8. useless to try to refute
it's like trying to tell a fundie that the earth is
older than 5000 years.
"Foreign Aid". "oil from Alaska for decades".
These bespeak an ignorance so great, one would
simply have to begin total re-education.

As John Stuart Mill said, "Not all conservatives
are stupid people, but most stupid people
are conservatives."

9. We spent around 27B on foreign aid in 2005.
The country receiving the most aid was Israel. Is Israel on list 2? Our military budget is something like 600B when you add things up, and Iraq is sucking in over 100B/yr. Debt service is the second big budget item, taking in something like 400B/yr. Somehow cutting foreign aid to zero is not going to cover the Iraq war or do much to reduce our out of control spending. If you want to deal with that problem, we need to stop piling on the debt and we need to drastically reduce our military budget.

13. It's about 50% right, 50% very wrong.
But it's 100% funny, and will never happen, so I'm cool with it.

14. That email has a target audience of ignorant xenophobes
Trying to refute it might be pointless.

Still, it might be worth looking at the trade angle. Most rethugs LOVE open trade. If they aren't able to get slave labor in other nations, they might actually have to manufacture here and follow federal labor laws.
