FOX News Banner On Nancy Pelosi: 100 Hours To Turn America Into San Francisco
Reported by Ellen - January 5, 2007 -

Sean Hannity was full of predictably peevish partisanship last night (1/4/07) on Hannity & Colmes as he made the ludicrous claim that the Democratic agenda of raising the minimum wage and combating global warming “because they have spent way too much time watching Al Gore’s new DVD” was out of step with America. But two FOX News banners were unusually biased, even by FOX News standards.

I have a feeling "San Francisco Speaker" is going to be with us for a long time.

1. Someone explain to me how this is a bad thing

I wouldn't mind living in a world where everyone is treated equals regardless of their sexual orientation.

8. It isn't, but that IS NOT WHAT FAUX MEANT
there have been enough snide remarks from their personalities about San Francisco

Incidently, I don't think the banner has anything to do with sexual orientation tollerance, instead I think it is trying to present San Francisco as the dirty word they have used so successfully, LIBERAL

It is about time the Democrats STOP RUNNING AWAY FROM THAT WORD. Liberal is what Democracy is all about

5. In Hannity's world, slavery would still be legal
And instead of bringing over more Africans (which would be expensive), we'd be enslaving poor Mexicans.

16. Again, Rice-a-Roni is NOT a San Francisco treat.
Having lived either in the city or near the city for 20 years now, I have never been offered a side dish of anything that resembles Rice-a-Roni nor have I ever seen it on any menu.

Try Sourdough bread. Now that's something that almost every deli and sandwich shop and bakery sells and is the staple bread served in many many restaurants in the city and in the Bay area (anyplace that serves fish or Italian especially).

26. Exactly.
Repukian mind:

Beautiful city, ocean vistas, culture, fine dining, cosmopolitan = BAD

Ugly cow-shit piece of no-zoning, no culture, no dining town = GOOD

they are stupider than I thought.

Isn't there a law about truth in advertising? How the heck does Faux get away with that Fair and Balanced motto? :eyes:

20. I'll tell you
A disgruntled employee of FOX tried to sue FOX for that very thing...that they were NOT fair and balanced. FOX's argument was that they are not a news channel, but an entertainment channel, and are free to lie with impugnity.

The judge agreed with them.

That is why we have FOX news and they are still allowed to spout that "fair and balanced" crap.

17. America could do worse. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful and
livable cities in the United States. You like fresh air? You like ocean vistas? You like public transportation? You like gorgeous hills, parks, public spaces, museums, libraries, and civilized people? You couldn't do better. Add to this San Francisco's tradition of liberty, of tolerance, of real American freedom of expression and lifestyle, and you couldn't wave the red, white and blue over a more American city!

Faux News and its stupid scorn for San Francisco is going to fade away. They are so '00s! And Nancy Pelosi's beautiful smile, and womanly strength, are the harbingers of a return to our true American selves, whose self-image has gotten so far off track toward the ugly, bigoted, narrow-minded, selfish, greedy, torturing, murdering fascists of the Bush Junta. Their time is over, thank God! Welcome to the City of Light, in its San Francisco manifestation, and wherever it may be found in the land of the free, home of the brave! You'll never see Bush smile like that, or Sean Hannity, I guarantee you. They don't have it in them. Three cheers for Lady Liberty!

18. I don't watch Faux any more, but my question is,
Why doesn't Colmes grow a backbone and put Hannity in his place? He's too mealy-mouthed. I suppose if he was more forceful, Faux would fire him!

23. San Francisco is terrific place
People are well educated and make good money. The San Francisco Bay Area has two of the most prestigous universities in the world. It's clean, beautiful and culturally diverse.

And the people here are tolerant, for the most part. That's probably the big issue folks like Hannity have with San Francisco. That whole tolerance thingy is annoying to Neanderthals like Hannity.

24. They really don't believe that the people of San Francisco qualify as "Americans," do they?
I really believe that if the Big Quake were to strike and San Francisco were to slide into what was left of the Bay that people like Hannity and his fans would be praising God and doing everything they could to oppose relief efforts for the area.

25. The only people who watch FoxNews are:
Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 03:43 PM by Jack Rabbit
  • Right wing morons who watch it to have their fears and prejudices validated; and
  • Lefties and liberals who watch it only for the shock value.
