barack is the perfect candidate
1) he's smart. you don't graduate magna from harvard law by accident.
2) he's eloquent. he's smoother than reagan.
3) he's honest
4) he's always opposed the iraq war. hillary, kerry, edwards? they all voted for the war

experience? overrated. he's more experienced than 3 out of our last 4 presidents.

4. By the yardstick of "experience"
Lincoln had no business being president, with his single term in the House of Reps. to his credit. and Obama already has more "experience" than Abe did.

5. I've been thinking about the
experience thing and come to the conclusion that nothing really gives one the experience until someone is there in office. A person just has to have the qualities needed to be open to learning, they have to have the capacity to learn. I think he does. I am not ready to commit, I like Edwards a lot too and if Gore or Clark were to enter the race they need to be considered. There is time and much to be learned yet.

6. He has great qualities-the GOP/media will harp on the "no experience" thingy.
Then again, he has a couple of years to really shine in the Senate...

8. Obamapalooza
With the exception of #2, the same can be said of Marion Berry.

He may very well be capable of being an excellent president, but as a candidate, he has huge vulnerabilities.
