So..Alison Stewart, MSNBC quotes Drudge...allows her guest to bash Dean and Obama..
and Dean ain't even running. Lois Romano of the Washington Post insults Dean from two years ago while saying it depends on how Obama behaves the next two years. How insulting, how very insulting can our media get.

And what the heck is going on with Alison Stewart. She used to fill in for Olbermann, she used to show common sense. Now she is quoting The Drudge Report as a legit source?

As usual, Media Matters is right on top of this, with video and partial transcript....and of course the contact info.

From the January 3 edition of MSNBC's The Most:

STEWART: That is -- that is an excellent point. We were talking this morning, the Drudge Report is suggesting there's going to be this New York Times report that Sen. Hillary Clinton's camp thinks her two biggest contenders here are Senator Obama and former Senator Edwards. Edwards vetted last time around, and Senator Obama really has a long road ahead of him in terms of digging up his past, doesn't he?

ROMANO: He does, and you know, one good analogy would be to take a look at Howard Dean at this time. I mean, he was getting unsurpassed support from first-time involvers -- I mean, people who hadn't voted. I mean, he was just exciting people. And as the campaign wore on, he didn't wear as well. I mean, he was shown to have a short fuse. He -- and we all remember the scene in Iowa when he started screaming when he lost. And so, that's the kind of things -- you know, voters are not going to be totally focused on whether he has experience or not, although that's going to be somewhat of an issue, but I think they're going to look at how he comports himself over these next two years.

Who the heck is the Lois Romano? Who gave her power to speak for Democrats when she says:

voters are not going to be totally focused on whether he (Obama) has experience or not, although that's going to be somewhat of an issue, but I think they're going to look at how he comports himself over these next two years.

What a silly statement meaning nothing. Or maybe my mind is so tired of our media's prattling that none of it means anything now.

1. Romano is a longtime mediawhore passing herself off as a reporter. She slants her
articles against Dems as heavily as she can - like Adam Nagourney - uses Rovian storylines against whoever the Dem is that is in a position to upset the establishment DC elite.

4. Thanks, she does sound like a mediawhore.
That tone she has. Like she has been sent by God and the Rovian powers that be to keep all of the rest of us in line.

I can't even watch any of the cable news anymore. It makes me sick. They don't think Dean is dead enough yet, and they are going to keep on after Obama and anyone else who appears on the scene.

5. That's why I shudder to think that some Dems still think media isn't the problem
and side with the mediaspin over other Democrats and very often, over the truth.

8. And if a candidate is not dead enough from 04....they will kill them
until they are more dead.

I can't even turn on the TV lately.

9. Look at it as a badge of honor - there are certain Dems the media really focuses on for teardown.
Why? Because they aren't establishment approved Democrats who can be counted on to go along and continue the secrecy and privilege that inhabits both parties.

6. It Means That Every Day in Every Way, The MSM Will Be Attacking Democrats
The MSM is not "neutral" or "only interested in ratings". Not even close.
The 2008 election campaign is already well under way, and the Repiglican media has a job to do, on us.

10. Liniks to the New York Times
I think the media, including the Times, will focus like a microscope on the struggle between Obama, Clinton, Edwards, and whoever else joins the fray. Regardless of whatever is really going on, they will make it seem like a blood bath.
