Bush's Photo Op Snubbed by Ford Family

The children of late President Gerald Ford spent every hour of public viewing in the United States Capitol to greet tens of thousands of everyday Americans who came to pay tribute to their father. When President George W. Bush showed up, the Ford children were nowhere to be seen.

According to a Capitol Hill source, Bush is the only person to have the Rotunda cleared for his visit, bringing a screeching halt to the public's visit to the casket. Other former Presidents and political VIP's went to the front of the line, but nonetheless greeted fellow mourners while paying their condolences. Further, Bush reportedly spent only seven seconds at the casket and promptly left the building.

While the nation, including Democrats and Republicans alike, joins together in honoring the service and life of a former President, Dubya doesn't seem to get it. Instead, he seems to just be going through the motions.

In his New Year's message to America, wherein he offered scant comments on the passing of Ford, he launched into a defense of his failed Iraq Policy.

"Defeating terrorists and extremists is the challenge of our time, and we will answer history's call with confidence and fight for liberty without wavering," he said.

2. He's understanding now how unpopular he is
and it's making him loathsome and paranoid, just like Nixon.

It just feels like Iraq is going to get much, much worse, in short order and not just from the escalation but from the response to that, and then Bush's intransigence again and so on with the cycle.

This is going to come to some horrible turn (even more so than what currently constitutes 'horrible').

4. If it's not about him....
he doesn't want to play. Why would he want to waste his time hovering over some dead guy? It's not about him so it's a waste of his time. The sooner he could get out of there the sooner everyone would be paying attention to him again. Me, me ,me. That's what's always going on in the diseased mind of George W. Bush.
Every speech he gives, every question he's asked by the press gets steered toward his policies in Iraq. He's the "war pResident", it will define his entire Presidency. Unfortunately, his policies in Iraq are a miserable failure, only he doesn't see them as failed policies, he continues to see then as a chance for some shining "victory".
He's both narcissistic and delusional. That's a very, very dangerous combination.

5. Bush is now officially an agoraphobic...
he's deathly afraid of being in public places. It's all part of his downward mental spiral, enhanced by his abuse of drugs and alcohol.

6. Did anyone see the Ford kids snub Cheney?
I missed it, but a friend who watched the entire funeral said that there was one point when Betty Ford came in, escorted by two of her sons. Cheney tried to muscle in and take Betty's arm, but one son resolutely pushed him away, and Cheney was left looking annoyed. Anyone else see that?

7. Bush would flick boogers on Ford's casket if he thought he could
get away with it since Ford had the audacity to disagree with Chimperor's foreign policy, etc.

It's only a matter of time before Il Dumbya starts talking to the WH portraits.

9. This pisses me off.
Even worse then watching Bush's speech yesterday about Gerald Ford, and how emotionless he was. He doesn't give a shit about President Ford dying. He did it because he had to, and it was a nice little photo-op. This is bullshit, and shows the lack of compassion our President has.
