We have gone way over the clef on this one. How insane can our government and media get?

3. Ah that was the feeling I had as I numbly pulled my car into
the garage: that we have plunged off yet another abyss here, that our stubbornly, resolutely STUPID leaders have gone and done something totally irrevocable, AGAIN, and we are going to be paying for this crap for a very long time. Hide your male children.

4. I don't know. I have been wondering that for some time
I just don't know if America can be on top of the world again.
Or sometimes I think maybe the status we all thought America had was just an illusion.

6. It has been an illusion for some time. I've been listening to Perkin's
"Confessions of an Economic Hit Man," and I am saddened by what people will do to others, especially the week and poor, for money. Ruthless greedy people seem to keep winning and the poor keep losing. I think with the access to information getting better and better, maybe we truly can change the world. I am hopeful.

7. We need to continue doing what we did in November of 2006
We need to continue to kick the right wing out of power. The further our government gets away from the far right, the better our reputation will be.

8. Our reputatioon as a "democracy" was ruined in December 2000 when the Supreme Court
decded that elections didn't matter and votes didn't need to be counted in order to install an unelected failure as our president. And it's been down hill ever since. Is there no end to the embarassment this piece of garbage has caused every American, and the disgust all the veterans of past wars must feel to know that their sacrifice to save our freedoms have been squandered away to satisfy the self-serving ego of a mentally unstable, coke snorting, alcoholic, chicken-shit, awol piece of shit?

9. Can we redeem our reputation? No.
Can we build a new reputation? Absolutely. And the sooner we get going on it, the better off we and the world will be.

10. I think we can but it will take a long time and it will depend on the people of this country.
And it will require a new U.S. leadership. But, the main responsibility lays with us.

11. hit rock bottom. we no longer have the right to respect. that is ok
there is always the opportunity to over time rebuild who we are as a nation with a strong foundation and lesson learned. it is ours to do. but seeing where we are today, on both sides of the isle, i dont see that we are even close to learning our lessons. seems more like who has the power
