U.S. Senator (Bill Nelson) Exchanged 'Sharp Words' With Assad Over Lebanon
U.S. Democratic Senator Bill Nelson said Thursday that he had a "sharp exchange of words" with Syrian President Bashar Assad over the international tribunal and the need to support Lebanese Premier Fouad Saniora.

Nelson, who is a member of the powerful foreign relations and armed services committees, made his remarks after meeting Saniora at the Grand Serail.

He was in Damascus Wednesday on a one-day visit during which he held talks with Assad.

1. I hope Nelson goes to Israel and has a "sharp exchange of words" with Olmert
over his use of radiological weapons and cluster bombs in Lebanon.

I don't recall a single US Senator calling for a ceasefire during the Israel bombing of Lebanon. The cries of the Beirut bombing victims were ignored by our esteemed institution.

What's sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander!

5. After 3 weeks of Israeli bombing and butchery, Hagel did call for a ceasefire
Senator Leahy called for a ceasefire in early August.

All of this happened after it became clear that Israel was stuck in Southern Lebanon and was suffering heavy casualties, not because of the bombing of Beirut and the blockade of Lebanon's sea and airspace.

Who were we protecting, the defenseless Lebaneses civilians, or the IDF?
