All of the Bills Ever Proposed by Barack Obama
Since becoming Senator in 2004, Barack Obama has proposed as many as 154 bills and resolutions and has co-sponsered over 400!!

Sponsered: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/?&Db=d109&querybd=@FIELD(FLD003+@4((@1(Sen+Obama++Barack))+01763))">Here
Co-Sponsered: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/?&Db=d109&querybd=@FIELD(FLD004+@4((@1(Sen+Obama++Barack))+01763))">Here

So please don't tell me he hasn't done anything, when from the looks of it...he's been very busy the last 2 years.

not cosponsored and a bill not an amendment nor a resolution.

The fact that he has not sponsored, i.e. originated, a significant bill is not surprising because he's a junior senator.

12. Look at those bills and tell me one thing...
What Democratic Senator could have gotten those bills passed (in the same or substantially the same form) in the Republican Senate?

Not one. No one could have pushed those bills through. Which isn't to say he's pie in the sky. I think it shows that he's a Senator with some real, honest to God ideas about how to make this country better for everyone in it.

When Republicans control the agenda, they don't put up Democratic bills. Period. This is the way the real world works, you should check into it sometime.

30. What's your problem? The OP touted Obama's record that upon cursory review
consists of nothing.

That's a simple fact.

Why don't you present other things Obama's done that might show he's qualified to be president since obviously you support Obama?

31. I have no problem
I have nothing against Obama's record and nothing for it. I am neither touting it or defending it. I'm saying it doesn't matter. I replied to you because you thought it mattered enough to belittle his record and assumed the OP would see this as a matter of course since he/she thought it mattered enough to tout it.

Do I thing Obama's qualified to be president? No.

Do I think Obama would make a good president? No.

Would I vote for Obama if he's the Democratic Party nominee for president? Yes.

2. Some really good ones
After just a brief scan, I found:

A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that any effort to impose photo identification requirements for voting should be rejected.

A bill to provide for Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) refueling capability at new and existing refueling station facilities to promote energy security and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to reauthorize various programs servicing the needs of homeless veterans for fiscal years 2007 through 2011, and for other purposes.

A bill to direct the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to establish guidelines and procedures for tracking, controlling, and accounting for individual spent fuel rods and segments.

A bill to direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish the National Emergency Family Locator System.

A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide for advance payment of the earned income tax credit and the child tax credit for 2005 in order to provide needed funds to victims of Hurricane Katrina and to stimulate local economies.

A bill to amend the Clean Air Act to establish a renewable diesel standard, and for other purposes.

A bill to prohibit deceptive practices in Federal elections.

A bill to provide incentives to the auto industry to accelerate efforts to develop more energy-efficient vehicles to lessen dependence on oil.

A bill to require openness in conference committee deliberations and full disclosure of the contents of conference reports and all other legislation.

And these were found in the first 25 listed! Wow!

One of those "Senatorial Privilege" things where the corporate contributor asks for a little tariff assistance.

3. S.RES.291 : A resolution to congratulate the Chicago White Sox on winning the 2005 World Series Championship.
Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack (introduced 10/27/2005) Cosponsors (1)
Latest Major Action: 10/27/2005 Passed/agreed to in Senate. Status: Submitted in the Senate, considered, and agreed to without amendment and with a preamble by Unanimous Consent.

You can't exactly list a resolution congratulating a baseball team as a great accomplishment, more like a waste of time.

That being said I have nothing against Obama, and I think he would make a decent President even though he is not my top choice.

Just a word of warning before you start naming the hundreds of resolutions he sponsored and cosponsored, not all of them are very significant.

21. S.2125 : A bill to promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Sponsor: Sen Obama, Barack (introduced 12/16/2005) Cosponsors (12)
Committees: Senate Foreign Relations; House International Relations
Latest Major Action: 12/9/2006 Cleared for White House

SEC. 103. BILATERAL ASSISTANCE TO THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO.
(a) Funding for Fiscal Years 2006 and 2007- Of the amounts made available to carry out the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2151 et seq.), the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954 (68 Stat. 454, chapter 469), and the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2751 et seq.) for fiscal year 2006 and 2007, at least $52,000,000 for each such fiscal year should be allocated for bilateral assistance programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
(b) Future Year Funding- It is the sense of Congress that the Department of State should submit budget requests in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 that contain increases in bilateral assistance for the Democratic Republic of the Congo that are appropriate if progress is being made, particularly cooperation by the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, toward accomplishing the policy objectives described in section 102.
(c) Coordination With Other Donor Nations- The United States should work with other donor nations, on a bilateral and multilateral basis, to increase international contributions to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and accomplish the policy objectives described in section 102.

S.2125 earmarked $52 million out of a nearly $3 trillion budget.

27. The thread is about Obama, what other senators have or have not done is irrelevant.
His record so far is no different than any other junior senator and what Obama might do in the future is purely speculative.

IMO, whether he is qualified or not to be president must depend solely upon his other accomplishments.

Then I guess the Dems might as well just concede the 2008 election...seeing as how nearly all of them have done relatively nothing while they've been the minority. Stop hating on Obama when it's no different from anyone else.

and BCCI and illegal wars in Central America at the time. But then, there was also a more honest newsmedia still doing its job at the time. Obama would get NOTHING but grief from the corpmedia today if he even ATTEMPTED to go after government corruption, so one could hardly blame him for not taking those risks in today's media climate.
