You Know, I Wouldn't Want My Prez '08 Candidate Leading This Early
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 11:45 PM by Dinger
I would know damn well it wouldn't last. If I were a Hillary or Obama supporter right now, I'd love all the positive media attention, the poll numbers, and all that, but I'd be worried (sort of) about how long this would last.

I'm just musing here, I respect both Hillary and Obama a lot. I saw something posted here earlier about the media's "tear 'em down & build 'em up" political tenderizing sort of thing, and I wonder if the media is doing this to weed out some potential contenders. Survival of the fittest I guess. This may not happen with either Hillary or Obama, as they are great candidates, but I wonder if this approach (tear'em down, build 'em up) will be applied to other candidates? Actually, the question should be how many times will they?
Almost everybody here is smarter than me . . . What do you think is going on? Or is my tin foil hat glowing?

1. I agree with you! I was a very strong Dean supporter, and POOF!
He was gone! To this day, I believe he would have made the best choice of the whole crowd that was running then, but we all saw what happened!

Even going back to the days when BC was running. He wasn't the leader. In fact, he entered the race late.

Is it the media? Partly. Butpeopletend to tire of what they hear over a long time.

I think the best thing for any candidate is to try to enter the race as late as possible, and let the rest of them kill each other first.

2. Where was Carter? Where was Clinton?
They weren't a factor until early in their respective election years. That's why I still hope Clark will run. I feel he has a HUGE untapped and unpolled base out there just waiting for him to run.
