6. I take it you approve of supreme court justices picking presidents
I happen to think that is a vile, unconstitutional and treasonous thing for a SCOTUS justice to do.

7. Particularly if the president you pick is the one who won't ruin your retirement plans
Sandra Day O’Connor’s most controversial vote may be her vote in 2001 to suspend Florida’s ballot recount, thus ensuring the election of George W. Bush as US President. This vote, in a 5-4 majority, came just months after she publicly expressed her concern that Senator Al Gore’s election could delay her retirement plans.

So she stuck us with His Royal Flatulence because she didn't want to retire during a Democratic administration. Talk about ****ed up priorities :eyes:

9. So, she makes a decision you don't like, and she's fair game.
Now that is truly juvenile.

10. "a decision you don't like?"
If you will take the time to read one of the many books and articles written about this decision, from both republican and democratic legal scholars, they are unanimous in stating that it has destroyed much of the credibility of the court, was utterly political, had NO legal basis at all, and will go down in history as the worst decision perhaps short of Dred Scott, in the court's history. AND made a mockery of US courts all around the world.

So that's not just me being juvenile

8. Well, husb, have to disagree somewhat here.
I liked her response on the follow up as to who will be responsible to see that the 79 recommendations are implemented. She said "Frankly, you are." Or something like that. Meaning I guess the press and the public.

Yes, she was horrible on the Bush v. Gore vote. It was detestable. I hated it. It dishonored the Supreme Court. All of that. But a broken clock is right twice a day and this was one of hers. And all the better it came from her, right?
