Anyone else losing total faith in this election?

I am losing total interest in this election. My candidate is getting beat badly in this election, Clark. I am not saying that because he isn't winning I am not going to participate anymore. What I am saying is that in my state the general election ALWAYS goes Republican by a 66%+ margin and the Primary is already going for Kerry. So in that, my votes do not count. I have no money to donate and I have very little time.

I cannot help anymore in the Presidential Election and I really doubt Kerry is going to beat Bush anyway. I only ever thought Clark, Edwards, and Lieberman had a chance and the voters are saying no to them. Therefore, I am totally out of here and strongly feel the election process is totally bogus. Why the hell should just a few states decided who the nominee is, and why does the media run our election for us? Oh well, I am going to try and get a job in Canada and move there. I don't want to live in the US when it is being run by all these Republicans and Democrats keep nominating people that cannot win. If Kerry does win, that is great, I will come back, but I will not hold my breath.

Supported Muskie in 1972, Morris Udall in 1976, Gary Hart in 1984, Bruce Babbitt in 1988, and Bob Kerrey in 1992. Wesley Clark had best keep his day job if my support is any indication.

Frankly Kerry, wasn't my first choice either,but I do think he has enough connection to John Kennedy, to carry some of the southern states, they are hungry and without health care, heck some of the republicans might like a job and health care these days under Bush, have heard some say they wouldn't vote for him again, and some say they are thinking...and I am in Jesse Helms country...Many of them think Young Edwards will be the V.P...and seem to be pleased at the thought.

If nothing else vote for the Democratic nominee in November. Sure he'll likely lose your state by the sounds of it, but hey you never know.

My state's been voting Dem for President but I'm not leaving it to chance. My primary vote will be too late to be meaningful but I'll send some money and I'll vote.

That sucks and I hate it. That is politics, however. It is always messy, and somebody's candidate always loses.

Now, let's focus on the glass is half full part about this election season. Right now, Bush is on the ropes and is being hit hard. Sure, he still has 9 months to go, but if he keeps getting hit he won't be coming off of those ropes.

I like my candidate a lot, but I am wise enough to understand there is more at stake than my candidate winning or losing. When matched against Bush all of our candidates are great.

Your faith in the American people is strained, as is mine, but you forget that the baseline is shifting Democratic.

Clinton 92: 43%
Clinton 96: 46%
Gore 00: 49% (lost .5% of that to Nader)

The problem with Gore was that he was too conservative. (Remember the copious debates about lesser evilism that year?) I have no idea why so many think that repeating that mistake with {Dean, Edwards, Clark} is going to save us.

All Bush has/had to deal with that was the 9/11 reinforcement of conservative mythology. Which is now used up.

The highly Republican states are not where you're going to get sane assessments of national trends. And the present is highly emotional and irrational, with conservative Democrats presently struggling with their purist-but-inviable narrower (sometimes gnostic) formulations of American liberalism. (I used to think that liberalism involved a commitment to tolerance and integrity- this primary campaign has taught me that plenty of Democrats don't.) Kerry is the representative of a wider-but-fuzzier kind, the sort Clinton championed.

My guy Kucinich is doing better, and I think we have Bush on the run. Also, Kerry knows what is coming and he's a smart and savvy guy. I wish someone like Kucinich could get the nomination and think Dean's been treated badly, but Kerry would be a more liberal President than Clinton. That gets me enthused.

We are about to run a candidate that voted with Bush too many times to win the debate. There is simply not enough thought going into this. Bush began trying out his lines for Kerry sunday. Expect to hear lots of "The Senator read the same reports I did and believed Saddam was a threat"
