6. I'd love to have that info! Thanks. I've been paying for the LD calls
from WA state, and I really can't afford it right now.

I'd really appreciate the help.

If you speak with seniors, in particular, or anybody really -- remember to mention George Jones's endorsement and radio ad. :)

7. How can I insure eblock folks in TN haven't already been called? Help!
Can someone give advice?
I reserved a block of TN numbers and called some today.
One man, William H. Baker, (before hanging up on me) said someone
from the Clark campaign had already called him! WTF???

Assuming this is true, how do we prevent duplicate efforts, and annoying folks by calling twice?
I thought once I signed up for an eblock, it was mine until the expiration date, which is Feb 11.
Am I just confused or is there a flaw in the eblock allocation system? If it's flawed, what do I do?

These are my eblock numbers:

---
3115453
3193131
3193119
3193116
3193121
3227604
3230983
3230986
3230987

This block is reserved for you until 2004-02-11 22:45:37. If you don't mark these voters complete by then, they'll be returned to the pool and you'll get another block.
---

Thx.

Myra

9. Someone might have forgotten to mark the calls as "completed."
If they aren't marked as "complete" they get returned back to the pool. So after you make a call, make sure you click on the gray button on the right to mark the call "complete."

11. I understand the process, but maybe an eblocker before me didn't.
I don't want to waste time and LD charges on people who have
been called already. And don't want to piss off the potential voter.

Whatever. I guess I'll take my chances. Most of 'em hang up on
me either way.

12. Also there are simply some mistakes
Phone numbers get entered from more than one list, not caught in cross checking, that kind of thing. Nothing will ever be perfect.

Well it seems you can't. There were technical issues we argued about at the OKC office, but there was no time to get it resolved. Plus the veterans of other campaigns insisted double calls do not matter. I have to think they have a little more experience than i do on the subject, so it was left at that.

What we did get good as was dealing with them. If they say they've been called more than once apologize and tell them that there was a technical issue and that it was being worked on. Then go back into your script.

Another way we dealt with it was changing the message from day to day when we knew we were gonna double call them ( we did so on purpose the last two days ). Tonight i suggest you change your script to say that your calling one last time to remind people of the primary tomorrow.

Tomorrow go with something like "it's a very tight race and we're making last minute calls to make sure you remembered to vote today. Did you support General Clark at the primary today?". We kept track of votes to kinda get a feel for the turn out for Clark.

Also as a closing question you can ask people if they need a ride to the polls. I'm not 100% sure if they're doing that in the Feb 10 states ( anyone know? ). Get their address, phone number, and preferred time and call one of the campaign offices.

If someone gets really pissed calmly explain that this is an extremely important primary season where every vote counts and these small inconveniences will be over by Wednesday... you promise. =)

14. Some info on Jamie
...Back in Tennessee, she was soon singing songwriter "demos" for Nashville's song publishing companies. But this sojourn ended prematurely when a visit to her mother in Australia turned into an extended stay. Australian pop star Kylie Minogue ("The Loco-Motion") hired O'Neal as a backup vocalist and she toured internationally with her for two years. O'Neal began writing her own songs on the advice of a music industry professional. Her mother suggested changing her last name to "O'Neal" to differentiate herself from The Murphy Family. Julie Murphy also mailed one of her daughter's demo tapes, without her knowledge, to an old acquaintance in Nashville.

...O'Neal quickly developed a reputation as a formidable vocalist, singing backup on records by Mindy McCready, Clay Davidson, Jason Sellers, Chely Wright, Ronnie Milsap, Sonya Isaacs and others. LeAnn Rimes recorded her song "Surrender." Chely Wright has recorded "Comin' Undone." O'Neal also co-wrote the Tammy Cochran single "So What."

She was making rapid progress both as a session singer and a songwriter, but O'Neal wanted to make her own music. EMI arranged an audition with Mercury Records' Keith Stegall in 1998, who introduced her to Mercury President Luke Lewis. Shortly after she began recording her debut album, Shiver. During the making of the record, songwriter and collaborator Rodney Good proposed to O'Neal, and the two were married in Florida shortly after the project was finished.

O'Neal's debut single, "There Is No Arizona," went to No. 1 on the Billboard country singles chart. She is the first female country artist to have a debut single reach the top spot since Deana Carter accomplished the feat in 1996 with "Strawberry Wine."
