Just how well is the Republican Party ??

Right now, they are like Ross Perot's crazy aunt, hiding out in the attic. Nobody really knows how she is doing. Is she well or is she near death? We know she had a setback a few weeks ago but everybody expects her to recover. But, will she?

Or are they all whistling past her graveyard? They expect her to be fully recovered in two years, in time for the next election. All her grievous ills will be forgotten by then. She will be as good as new. But, will she?

Or have all her family deserted her for good? Will they return for the next election? Or is this illness terminal? The elders will no doubt be praying for her...

1. I hope the republican party comes back

Not in this bastardized form that it has taken, but in the form of honest conservatives. All of us should remember that it takes a left and a right wing, to make an airplane fly. I personally will always be a progressive dem.,but the same corrupting influence could affect our own leaders, so it behooves us to be vigilant and watchful of our own as well as the republicans.

2. Um, they still own 90% of all the assets in the nation.

Remember what * said to the people at that banquet about the wealthy being his base.

We still have little voice in the mass media. Even NPR has a strong conservative bias tempered only by attempting to stay somewhat accurate on reality.

We still can be outspent in every election.

We still have to deal with voting machines that they tamper with in every election.

They still have a 32% base of hard core racists and the Xtian Taliban. These are the people that stuck with Hitler after utter defeat was evident across Germany.

They're not going away any more than cancer is.
