Coming up now.

Max hitting him on every aspect.

Military doesn't just burn things. Getting specific.

4. Now hitting him with military terms for papers that vets can relate to.
Bush has officially lost the military vote, imo.

I'm not watching so it's good to hear that Bush is being excoriated. (I love that word!)

9. how about eviscerate?
That's a good one too.

To remove the entrails of; disembowel.
To take away a vital or essential part of: a compromise that eviscerated the proposed bill

17. It's good, but I don't like the "entrails" part
Bush can keep his entrails. Just send him back to Crawford! ;)

Then again, here are the dictionary definitions of excoriate:
1) To tear or wear off the skin of. (eeeewwwww! gross!)
2) To censure strongly; denounce. (that's what i'm talking about!)

12. It was good to see
I can honestly say, "Tweety" made absolutely no excuses for Bush. He even said, "the media wants to know where he was..."

It was a thing of beauty!

8. Cleland is awesome.....
Totally savaging *. I can hardly believe this is being talked about -- finally -- on the scale that it should be talked about.

* was a deserter. Plain and simple.

I also like Cleland's line about how a number of those in SE Asia would have loved to have worked something out with the military to come back to the states.

That's a grand slam home run of a line.

18. Cleland has been on the campaign trail for months hammering Bush on this.
He speaks to vets all over the country about it. This is why vets came out so big for Kerry in Iowa and NH and other states.

Cleland took them to school and told them the story about Bush's AWOL record.

I first heard him talk about it last Sept. in SC.

Vets are pissed and the media is just playing catch up.

I got to meet him in person a few years ago when he came to my university to give the keynote a our model senate event (he is also an alum of my university). He is doing a great job taking it to AWOL boy. He would make a great VP or Sec. of Defense.

22. Damn, just when you thought it was over
Chris hammers at it again. Asks David Gregory if this story has legs. Gregory says AWOL isn't a term in the Guard. Now he's asking Laura Ingraham. She's just CRYING about it. She's saying "others" left the country and now the Democrats want to make an issue of Bush's service in Vietnam.

Matthews says, "no it's not because Bush didn't serve in Vietnam!"

OMFG!!!!!

30. Wow! I will be watching this

in a couple of hours when it reruns. Sorry I missed it the first time but I was offline and didn't see the heads up.

Max Cleland :yourock:

Max was my senator and there was an infestation of GOP big guns (Bush, Cheney, Poppy Bush, Laura Bush) here campaigning for that sleaze Saxby Chambliss (not able to serve during Viet Nam due to a bad knee, which is now much better -- he's a runner.) (And I think they still had to rig the machines to get Chambliss in.)

Chickenhawk Chambliss, backed by chickenhawks like Bush and Cheney (and, worse, by Poppy, who actually served in combat) had the gall to question Cleland's patriotism. If that's not lower than a snake's belly, I don't know what is. I will never forget that and I will damn sure never vote for Chambliss.

31. Anyone consider why Cleland isn't running for the opening Senate seat inGA
I don't know much about GA politics, maybe the rethugs savaged his reputation there, but after stumping for Kerry on the campaign trail, a coattail victory should be easy.

But, as far as I know, he isn't running.

Is he holding out for VP?

33. I've only been here a few years
in GA

but in 2000 it was like 60% for Bush. Didn't pay too much attention to the Cleland loss. My guess is that it would be hard for him to win again in GA, the Repukes are pretty strong here right now.
