Right-wing radio host Melanie Morgan: "We've got a bull's-eye painted on (Pelosi's) big, wide laughing eyes"



On the November 14 broadcast of San Francisco radio station KSFO's Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan Program, Morgan said, "We've got a bull's-eye painted on her big, wide laughing eyes," referring to House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), as noted by blogger Spocko. On the November 20 broadcast of the show, Morgan again asserted that "it's time to put the bull's-eye" on Pelosi. As Media Matters for America has noted, Morgan previously said that she "would have no problem" with New York Times executive editor Bill Keller "being sent to the gas chamber" if he "were to be tried and convicted of treason" for the publication of an article about a Treasury Department program that monitors international financial transactions for terrorist activity.

On the November 14 broadcast, Morgan also asserted that there are "700 days to start pushing conservative values and to start hitting back at the Democrats and slap the crap out of 'em," and referred to Pelosi as "Nancy McNasty." After co-host Rodgers referred to Pelosi as "Nancy with the laughing face," Morgan responded, "If you could call it that." After Morgan's remark on the November 20 program, KSFO host Brian Sussman asked, "Now can we talk about Nancy Pelosi's new look?" Sussman then engaged in an extended discussion with Morgan and Tom Brenner, who appears on the radio show as "Officer Vic," about whether Pelosi has had recent cosmetic surgery, a smear of Pelosi common among conservatives.

During the November 20 broadcast, Morgan also said, "I am putting together my down-and-dirty book on Ms. Pelosi, getting a book proposal, and boy, do I have some good dirt on her." As Media Matters noted, Morgan published a book in October that smeared another favorite target of the right wing: anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan. Along with Catherine Moy, Morgan co-authored American Mourning: The Intimate Story of Two Families Joined by War, Torn by Beliefs (WND Books), which is purportedly a biography of two families who lost soldiers in Iraq, including Sheehan's family. Although Morgan has acknowledged that there are "not a lot" of "new things" about Sheehan in the book, it nonetheless contains accusations by Sheehan's former sister-in-law that "Cindy had become addicted to online chat rooms of a pornographic nature" and "eventually had physical rendezvous as well."

seem to be these 'conservative values' she's talking about. Sure, go at it, dear- that'll keep your party at 32% support nationally, which is fine with us!

As for so many Republicans' running obsession with Democrats' sex lives...you know, I'm starting to think there must be a real difference in quality for them to be so needy. I'm trying to think of even a single Republican whose sex life intrigues Democrats- their sex scandals are all so dreary and uninspired, even the serial pseudo-monogamy is a drag. It's their incredibly bad judgment that provides the only solace from the unimaginativeness and pointlessness.
