Lieberman slaps the "chattering nutroots"...hires Bullmoose to communicate..
for him.

This is when Bullmoose insulted all of us after Lieberman won.
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/616

"KOSenfreude*

The Moose gloats and kvells.

There is great joy in Mooseland. The nutroots have struck out. Joe Lieberman has prevailed. The vital center is victorious!

Read and weep, dear nutroots

Don't believe the pathetic nutroots spin. In August, they engaged in premature triumphalism believing that they vanquished the vital center. One even indicated that he had ominous plans to obliterate the organization that Joe once led. No, they did not need the dreaded establishment. All they needed were their trusted keyboards and their internet access."

And here is the Raw Story article:

http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Lieberman_hires_former_Christian_Coalition_spokesman_1121.html

Two weeks after winning reelection as an independent due to losing Connecticut's Democratic primary, Joe Lieberman has hired a former spokesman for the Christian Coalition as his new communications director, RAW STORY has learned. The new hiree also formerly served as a senior fellow at the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), a legislative director for the conservative Heritage Foundation, and as communications director to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

Fifty-two year old political pundit and activist Marshall Wittmann is very popular with Washington journalists because he often "gives good quote," according to a Washington Post profile from earlier this year.

"He's been a Trotskyite, a union organizer, a lobbyist, a government bureaucrat, a think tank cogitator, an aide to Sen. John McCain and -- despite the fact that he's Jewish -- the official spokesman for the Christian Coalition," Peter Carlson wrote for the Post. "Which raises a perplexing question: Why the hell would anybody listen to the political thoughts of a guy knuckleheaded enough to get mixed up in movements formed by both Leon Trotsky and Pat Robertson?"

1. Joe will use Wittmann to craft his attacks on Kerry and Kennedy for supporting Lamont
and I would guess, Clark, too, if Clark gets in his way, again.

17. Figures that Judas Joe would use former Xtian Coalition hatchet man
Marshall Wittman. They are both a pair of Republican moles in the Democratic Party, and they will do their best to attack candidates like Kerry, Clark, Obama, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lieberman would come out in support of Michael Bloomberg's independent Presidential bid on the grounds that the Dems are controlled by the "looney left."

3. Wow... Bullmoose is delusional...
Doesn't he realize that he, even as stupid is he is, is ALSO part of the netroots?

If not for the internet, he'd be nameless.

12. A lot of DLC DUers use "netroots" as an insult (from behind their keyboards too, of course)
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 04:28 PM by Dr Fate
I have also noted the irony in Bull Moose and DLC Duers who derride people who "sit behind their keyboards"- as if they dont also type political posts on the internet.

They refuse to acknowledge the irony of it whenever I point that out to them.

Must be a chemical imbalance. :)

4. Here is Bullmoose's final post...thumbs his nose at us.
http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/2006/11/hibernating-moose.html

"For now, the Moose bids adieu to his Mooseketeers.

It's been a good run. The Moose has tremendously enjoyed musing, observing and holding forth on the issues of the day. But, for the time being, this cervine creature will not be seen in cyberspace

So, the Moose declares "farewell", for now. He is hibernating... or not. He thanks his Mooseketeers for their loyalty and often insightful communications to him. And the nutroots and their ilk should not take solace in the departure of the Moose. The Moose will surely re-emerge again. When and where will the Moose be spotted?

The Moose works in mysterious ways..."

A veiled threat to the nutroots...he just could not resist.

I once posted that having him as a DLC senior fellow would be a deciding factor to me in voting for a DLC leader in 08...it will.

And Joe's hiring of him tells us all we need to know.

11. Funny how BM had to be a blogger in order to bash blogs & bloggers.
What a hypocrite- bashing people for being behind their keyboards- FROM BEHIND A KEYBOARD!!!

Not unlike several DUers (or one DUer with diff. names??) who do the same thing.

Hopefully he will do for Liberman what he did for Haggard/Fawell/Pat Robertson etc. and the Neocons.

9. I used to read Bullmoose post 2004 election -- he didn't start out
that badly. He criticized Tom Delay incessantly and George W. Bush as well. Then he went after Kerry for trying to filibuster Alito and endorsed the warrantless wiretapping. Then I removed him from my bookmarked blogs.

The "vital center" can also be called "capitulation to the right wing nutjobs", so whatever, Bullmoose. Go work for Lieberman, since I think that blog gig wasn't working so good for you . . . .
