A possible twist in the Primary?
Before the voting had started I had thought Kucinich would be nearly invisible for the entire primary. However, he came on 3rd in Washignton and Maine. He has already pledged to stay in the campaign until the convention so....If and I realize it is still a big IF...Kerry continues his winning streak and lets say Dean, Edwards, and Clark leave the race...could Kucinich end up being a lot more visible than many of us orginally thought?

1. Yes
Which is his plan...but do note that even though DK came in third and polled more than Sharpton, Clark, and Edwards COMBINED the only mention of him in anything was how poorly Clark and Edwards did in comparison. There was virtually no mention of him at all in the morning's Washington Post or New York Times.

2. Yes.
DK just holds his space...he continues to talk directly to Americans...not too concerned with polls or media...just is who he is...people are beginning to see that and yes....by doing that he is becoming much more visible...but in an under the radar kinda way!

Go Dennis!!

Peace
DR

3. yes but I've thought so all along . . .
By super tuesday it will come down to Kerry, Kucinich and possibly a third (Dean/Clark/Edwards). The only unknown is whether Dean/Clark/Edwards drops out after not winning WI or stays in thru super Tuesday.

4. it would be great
to force the media to say people want a liberal agenda if Kucinich had a decent showing on Super Tuesday.

6. yes
It will be interesting to see media coverage of strong showing by DK on super tuesday. I believe DK will exceed 15% in a number of states including CA, OH, MN.

Media are more or less not commenting on 8% in WA and 15% in ME, except to note that Edwards and Clark did not campaign there. Broder today noted that WA and ME are unduly liberal. But in the context of the media annoited big four (Kerry, Dean, Edwards, Clark) its great to see DK beating half of them. Does the NYT really believe DK should be excluded from this Sunday's debate in Milwaukee? If so, should not Clark and Edwards be excluded as well? Media silence on DK third place showings speaks volumes.

5. That is the plan.
Slow and steady. It is a shame that the press will not mention him yet but the people are hearing him.

13. you heard wrong
Kucinich is also running for reelection to Congress which is allowed in Ohio. Just like Lieberman ran for Senate and same time he ran for VP.

Edwards, on the other hand, is giving up his seat.

8. Primary votes for DK are win/win
Either he gets the nomination or puts some progress back into the party. Either way it's a good thing

10. DK could come in 2nd in every primary, but that's still losing.
That translates into higher speaking fees, I think. But little more than that.

14. And will his delegates hold
in the convention when the roll call of states begin? And you're sure he's in to the convention all the way (I hope)?

15. well that's the story
but obviously DK needs delegates to go all the way. Maybe he picked up one in ME last night. The key on super tuesday will be exceeding 15% in states like CA, OH, MN, which is entirely achievable.

16. Yes, and Yes
DK supporters are not the kind to change votes before the roll call. It's safe to say they are even more dedicated to their cause than Dean supporters, IMHO.

And DK has stated that he has enough $$ to stay in the race until Boston. He runs a VERY tight ship-- mostly volunteer, BTW. Even his advance work is done by volunteers, while most of the other "big" campaigns use paid staff to do it.

Each time he's come to MN (where I'm at), it's usually been just him-- NO paid "handlers" or planners. All the other work has been done by local volunteers. Even our state coordinator position is volunteer.

After working on a number of campaigns in the past, it's very refreshing to see such a volunteer-run campaign. It truly gives me hope that things are changing, no matter how well DK does.

:D

20. as a Kerry supporter, I hope that Dennis stays in and does well . . .
his positions are most in tune with my own, and if I thought he had a chance of being elected, I'd be supporting him . . . but I still want those positions to be part of the debate, so I wish him well in the remaining primaries . . .
