Official tosses [Iowa state] senator's ballot with ex's address
<http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061116/NEWS08/611160423/1001/NEWS>

A state senator who has been critical of potential abuse of absentee ballots because of their easy availability has had his own absentee ballot in last week's election rejected after he used the address of his ex-wife.

The ballot cast by Sen. Jeff Angelo, a Republican from Creston, was disqualified because he no longer lives at the address he listed as his home on his application for an absentee ballot. Angelo's divorce became final in March, but he never changed his voter registration address after he moved into an apartment a year ago.

"He didn't want to ruin his image," said Lois Monday, who is registered as a Republican but says she is an independent.

Angelo promotes family values and was the sponsor of a "covenant marriage" bill six years ago that would have made getting divorced more difficult for people who chose the more binding commitment.

Don't you just love how he "promotes family values" and advocates "covenant marriage" yet gets divorced and then the critic of absentee ballots illegally votes? But, what should we expect.

Conservative idiot of the week nominee?
