74,000 VOTES Rove Talked about????
Edited on Wed Nov-15-06 06:39 PM by FARAFIELD
I saw an article the other day, where Rove opined that just 74K votes(not sure of the number but I think that was it) in the house would have kept in control of the REPS, I live in NC and have been hearing a lot about that, I printed out some stuff from CQ politics but would like to reference the Quote from Him does anynone know of a link to it. I googled "your math and the math" but couldnt find it. What i want to do is take the CQ printout and add around the same number of votes to our total and show how many more seats we could have won and then write a letter to the editor. I just like to be accurate when quoting people. Also, notice how they squawk about how we only have a majority because of a few votes but then seem to forget that Tipsy Mcdumbass didnt even win the popular vote. thanks for who finds it.

3. Tipsy McDumbass=the Prez
Its a nickname my mom made up years ago when bush was running and he came up with that bizzare answer about whether he had been an alcoholic or not.

9. I don't have a link, but you need this:

Rove Continues To Tout "The Math" To Rationalize GOP Losses

"You are entitled to your math, and I'm entitled to the math," Karl Rove told a National Public Radio interviewer last month.

And he's sticking to that spin.

According to Rove's math: 10 of the 28 House seats Republicans lost were sacrificed because of various scandals. Six more were lost because members did not recognize and react quickly enough to the threat, he said. That leaves 12 other seats lost, fewer than the 15 Democrats needed to capture the House.

Furthermore, Rove says 23 races were decided by 2 percentage points or fewer, and a shift of 77,611 votes would have kept the House in Republican hands.

14. Probably true
for exampl, one of the house races was won by less than 500 votes. So if 250 of them had gone the other way...

You get the math.

OTOH, among the votes cast for Senate, 55% were for Dems. So this was a major blood bath for us.

8. Pre-election polls pointed to about 28-32 gains.
If we won every single toss-up, maybe we would have gotten 40 or possibly 45, but if the Republicans had won every toss up in 1994 it would have been equally obscene. You never win all the close races even though we managed a perfect score in the Senate.

11. TIA Link Needed Please..
Can you give me the link? And..yes..I agree..they tried plenty this time too..but there were too many races out there to get it just right...the stealing attempt. Dems would have won far bigger...I wouldn't be surprised if stuff is revealed about the TN race..

10. .
Yeah, so what. Besides the stealing, maybe not even 500 and we would have had President Gore.
