1. You only have to consider who Carville sleeps with to get the big picture.
No one could cuddle up to a snake like that if they had half a lick of sense in their noggin. That woman is vile. Carville should just shut up, take his toys and go home.

23. Absolutely jealous!
Carville didn't mastermind the victory, thus he has to pout and cast aspersions at the new kid on the block, aka Dean.

8. Carville now wants things to go back to the same-o, same-o DLC...
...Repub-lite Democratic caucus (you know, the one that empowered the reichwingers, and showed the independents how weak the Democrats were so that we lost election, after election?).

And Chairman Dean threatens that process with his success, and showing disheartened Progressive Democrats the "Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party" giving us hope.

Now we won majorities, the DLC has begun a war to yank us right back to that losing position (somewhere in-between Bush-Repubs and Lott-Repubs) in today's politics has begun, and all for what? The most of corporate dollars??

9. Carville isn't inherently a DLC loyalist
He was very upset over many of the provisions in Clinton's Welfare Reform bill and he was against the Iraq War as I recall.

I think the 15th minute answer is the correct one.

10. I might have chosen something
else but from reading other threads and thinking about this I've decided that ol' mr mary matlin is putting his head out there for the dlc, maybe more specifically the clintons to get rid of Dean(who's for the People) and get someone in there like terry mccauliff(who was a terrific corporate fund raiser I've read).

31. Dean isn't up for reelection
Dean has a four year term. He could be removed by a majority of the committee. That would take a major effort and a candidate to attract votes away from Dean. It makes no sense for the Clintons to go after Dean. All they end up with is a divided party, which they would have to go to for votes down the road.

There is no big advantage in having your guy at the DNC. The DNC chair has to remain neutral in primary races and must support the nominee in the general. Having their own man there would do little to benefit the Clintons.

15. Gotta go with 'hustle up a new job." To me, the Matelin Factor means
he's a hired gun, that the only reason we've assumed he's a Democrat is that Carville knows we Dems prefer true believers over winning bidders so he's careful not to play both sides of the aisle, ala Dick Morris.

25. Carville to Dean: I N V U
IOW, Carville is pathologically jealous of Dean's success. If Carville weren't in bed with the DLC corporate wing and out of touch with the people, he'd have more success, too.

strategy of his assured that we wouldn't win back Congress this year. Complete and total disaster, yeah, totally. :sarcasm:

The GOP fired their chair for losing and Carville thinks we should fire Dean because he helped us win?

Strenghtening the state parties will take power away from any campaign Carvilee gets associated with come primary and campaign time. I think he's worried about that.
