I met Wes Clark today!!!
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 03:04 AM by Mobius
Wesley Clark was in Racine Wisconsin today. Despite what news agencies reported, there were approximately 1000 people in attendance, not 500. Wes Clark himself said there were twice as many in Racine as in Green Bay, where the official count was 500. I rode down with some Milwaukee office staffers, who were more than happy to give me a ride. I was there early, during the setup. I asked the woman in charge of the reserve seating, if there were any extra in the front, because I had my camcorder all ready to go and was going to convert it to digital format to post on the internet, send to Little Rock and send to http://www.us4clark.com/mediaclips.html if they want to put up the entire rally in 10 min clips. To my surprise she said yes! I got AWESOME I MEAN REALLY INCREDIBLE footage of the whole event with Governor Doyle. I also got some really great still shots, which I will share here as soon as I get them developed :)
Wes Clark was stunningly perfect, intelligent , and quite obviously far and above any other candidate. There was one part where Clark's microphone went dead. Was he flustered at all? No. In fact he laughed when a person from the crowd yelled "It must have been made overseas"
He spoke on all of the issues, and I did not for one moment doubt anything he said. To anyone that is impressed by what I like to call Clark's cool intelligence and spirit kindred the most honorable people in history. If you have the chance to see Clark in person, YOU MUST! NO MATTER WHO YOU SUPPORT. If you could just see how gracefully he handles himself... It is hard for me to put into words... In http://clark04.com/americanson/">"American Son" he Wes Clark documentary, a former Wes Point classmate described Wes. He said you knew there was something special about Wes , when he saw him in the first chair of his math class. When he went to his English, History and the rest of his classes, Wes Clark was in the first seat in all of them, and that's when he realized there was something unique and extraordinary about him, RARELY seen. That's what I saw, what everybody saw. A truly unique person , that to call him qualified to be President of The United States, would be a gross understatement. If you go and see him, you will know that WES CLARK WAS BORN TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. His whole life he has strived for nothing but perfection. Not for his own glorification, but TRULY BECAUSE HE FELT HIS COUNTRY DESERVED NO LESS. Wes Clark has ALWAYS BELIEVED IN A HIGHER STANDARD OF LEADERSHIP, it is not something new he decided to say for sound bite mongers. When politicians were talking about peace treaties, Wes Clark was out there negotiating them. When wars were being discussed, he was out there fighting for our rights, and rather than abandon the service because he thought things could be run better, he stayed and sought to improve it. When improvement was no longer desired, Clark was asked to retire a few months early. One of the best points Clark made , in my humble opinion, was that yes, he could quote scripture if he wanted to. But, he said, alot of people can preach, but few actually practice what they preach. That is so applicable to most of the other candidates, and of course Bush.
There were 2 people that got closeup photos with Wes Clark today, I was one of them :7
I shook his hand and asked him "If a lay person like me can see the WMD intelligence doesn't add up, why couldn't they?" He responded quickly, concisely with no teleprompters, earpieces or blank looks into space. "Because they didn't want to see it, they wanted to go to war." Now think about this? Anyone that voted for IWR should have been able to see that the intel was bunk, if I could. Certainly, learned politicians should have been able to. Why didn't they?
Please get on the phone banks or http://www.clark04.com/eblocks/">E-Blocks and call, call call. The media won't cover him, so it's up to us to tell the world what a gift Wes Clark is.

4. Go oooooooo Clark!!!!
I just wish the Media would start talking about ISSUES and where each candidate stands !!!!********
There seems to be a media blackoput--all you here is Kerry is so good-Kerry is so gonna win--
WHEN will they begin talking issues and stop the horse race idiocy?

Clark has the RIGHT answer on every issue.
Let's see some details about where these other guys stand and then compare rather than just deciding to be with the one who""winning" according to some corporate obligated media whores.

7. What a wonderful post!
It sounds like you had such a wonderful experience.

Ever since I first heard Wes Clark speak, I knew he was unique, & I prayed he would get into the race. If only more people could listen to him & watch him for more than a quick soundbite, I know that he could win the nomination & go on to defeat Bush.

I wish I could see the General in person, but C-Span has to suffice for now. Congragulations on your wonderful experience.

13. General Clark creates the
exact same feelings in me. Words escape me sometimes in describing how I feel about him. You said it beautifully.
I have met him several times and each time my resolve grows stronger to send him to the people's house.
We vote here in Virginia tomorrow. We have worked hard-- Everything from donating money to 7 weeks of free room and board to a campaign worker.
I hope that we can turn the tide to the right man at the right time in our history.

Vote as if your life depended on it...because it does.
