I had an encounter with 3 very obnoxious Pryce workers at my precinct. After involving myself, a Republican poll worker, the school principal and a school district official the issue was resolved against the Pryce campaign. The Pryce people did not see why they could not post signs on the lawn of the school outside the 100' flags and sign. The school board in our district has a policy which forbids posting any political signs among other things on school property. To me the whole episode was a demonstration of the desperation of the Pryce camp as the school is in a very Republican area and there should have been no need to post signs at the polls on election day.
As far as the why bother to count the votes camp goes--they can say whatever they want to say because the law requires that all valid votes be counted and that includes absentee and provisional votes. The extra time--the 11 days--is needed both to allow the Board of Elections to verify the information given by the voter on the provisional ballot, but also for individuals who voted provisional because they had no identification to contact the Board of Elections to verify their address. The yellow copy given to the voter when they voted provisional ballots has a phone number the voter can call to find out if their vote was counted and if not why not. I am not sure if they can appeal at that time and provide evidence that they are indeed a valid voter voting in the correct precinct.
