Can someone remind me? When the Republicans took over in 1994
was there a talk about "reconciliation" and "bi-partisan" and for "the good of the country?"

I don't remember any, except that Gingrich declared Clinton irrelevant.

Yes, we choose the high road and we will try to work together with the White House and across the aisle, but we will do so because we think this is the right thing to do, not because the vultures demand it.

3. We would do well to not behave like Repukes in 1994.
The behavior of the Repukes beginning in 1994 lead to the near destruction of this country.

Gingrich went around strutting as if he'd been elected President, which allowed the actual President to out maneuver his sorry little ass. As a result Clinton was forgiven his personal foibles and part of what destroyed Gingrich was his hypocricy.

I believe that there is enough obvious criminality in the White House to justify impeachment. Impeachment may well come. Indeed many Bushies may end up where they belong in prison. But all that said, the smartest approach is not to be a babbling radical right now, swaggering about calling for revenge. Many people who voted Democratic voted so for the first times in their lives. The best approach is to appear rational and even. Only a complete fool would behave as Gingrich behaved in '94, and let's be sure, Gingrich was and is a complete fool. He's nowhere.

I'm proud of our newly elected Democrats and I'm proud of our leaders. They have a very, very, very difficult job ahead of them. Surely they will make misteps, but I am confident that they will prevail. It does not do well to wear your intentions on your sleeve.

8. I agree. But this will come from our leaders
not because they, and their dittoheads at Fox, demand it.

5. Republicans are always in it for themselves, Democrats tend
to consider others.

Nothing new here.
