Just what is going on with these results?
It is 1:12 am EST which is some 5 hours after the last caucus in Maine closed. For several hours both CNN and AP have been stuck at 50% of the vote counted. I know these are run by parties and all but I live in a state which is close to 10 times the size of Maine and I have never, ever seen our state take anything like this long to count votes. Washington state is still not completely reported. What is with these results? If the precincts out are the same sized as the ones reporting we are talking 8047 delegates to count. How hard can that be? I am not claiming fraud, but I do find this very bizarre. Just what is going on?

11. That Edwards pic cracks me up!!
"Ties for first in Oklahoma"

LMAO!!! You can't "tie for first" when you have FEWER votes!

I'm sorry for rehashing this one but it still gets me every time I see it. Edwards might want to go back to math class before he considers being President!

2. the outcome didn't meet expectations...
...so the numbers must be adjusted. please refrain from paying attention until the crowning is complete. obvious voter error. the media has clearly expressed the voters intent, so stop asking questions please.

3. Do you know what % of WA is not reported?
I saw several different summaries tonight of it, and not sure what to think.

Did it stop at 90%,and the media just wins with what they called?

5. The last I saw was 99%
which would be around 65 precincts unreported.

6. Here is my answer
Party officials noted the major city of Portland, where Dean was expected make a strong showing, had not yet reported its results when the count ended for the evening. The state party said it would resume the count this morning.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04040/271039.stm

This is unbelievable in the most literal sense of the word. They quit counting for the night? Just what the heck is up with that? BTW Portland has over 63k people in a state with 1,250,000 or around 5% of the total population. This defines irresponsibility. The quit counting for the night. I am appalled.

7. Well, hey, dsc, let's just take the media totals. How about that?
Everybody here thinks they are ok. Why count?

8. Can you imagine if Cook County did this?
People would be up in arms. But lily white Maine and it is just fine. I just can't believe they quit counting for the night. That is just out and out wrong.

9. Easy now DSC, we only have 6 calculators and we drained the
batteries. We'll get new ones tomorrow. :-)

I'm surprised, actually, our caucus was done by 5:30, but we only had 20 people. Kerry did quite well with 10, everyone split the reset.

I really thought Dean would do well in the Northern part of the State (Bangor/Waterville) with Kerry doing better in the South (Portland and York County).
