Probable Kerry Survey (Telephone) Tonight Complaint
We got an unsolicited phone survey this evening. I don't mind them much and am willing to give my opnion on all things political. 0 This one was probably paid for by the Kerry folks, his name was the only one mentioned other than Bush's and some of the statements I was asked to comment on seemed to be straight from his stump speaches. It wasn't obtrusive, it didn't take very long, I didn't mind.

What I did mind was this, the fellow conducting the survey had an accent so heavyly Indian (As in the continent, not American) that time and time again I had to ask him to repeat the question or the possible answers. So maybe the survey was contracted and maybe this and maybe that and maybe even the actual conduct of the survey was outsourced overseas (which I am just going to assume was not the case), but I didn't much like that.

I just thought it was worth mentioning because if any of Senator Kerry's staff people read this they might want to look into it - if they have a survey going on that is - possibly with an eye towards getting their survey folks to try to find phone people who are easier to understand.

By the way, no, I'm not a Kerry supporter, but I am for everyone in the Democratic Party so if I see anything that I think may be important to any of the candidates I'm going to mention it in the spirit of offering help.

1. What makes you think that it wasn't from the Bush campaign?

2. Are you sure it was proKerry or was it more probing?
Because I heard months ago that the RNC had outsourced to India for their phone work.

This could be a probe by the RNC to see what Kerry is saying that people are liking or disliking and to take advantage of what they learn.

3. I am working for the Kerry campaign
and we are told to identify ourselves as being part of the Kerry campaign. Is it that way everywhere? If not, it certainly should be.

6. This is a private, internal poll, and they wouldn't tell who it was who
commissioned it.

4. clearly he could have been here
though usually companies would hire people without accents for this kind of work.

5. Do you know for a fact this was outsourced? (Did you ask?)

Is that what you're implying?

People living in America have foreign accents and are entitled to work and they pay taxes, by the way.

7. good point
We shouldn't jump to the conclusion that accent means foreign.

8. Guess what? That was the RNC, they outsourced to India, no ****!!!!
From Freerepublic no less:

(snip)
Indeed, even the Republican Party has turned to outsourcing recently. The Indian magazine Business Standard recently reported that the GOP has hired HCL eServe to set up call centers in two Indian cities to make fundraising calls into the United States.

They expanded it to include polling, but I can't find the article.
