What the heck is going on in Missouri???
Anyone in Missouri have an explanation for McCaskill's last minute surge in all the polls? Massive campaign ads? What is it?

Gallup Nov 4: 49-45
Polimetrix Nov 5: 57-39
Rasmussan Nov 5: 48-49
Survey USA Nov 4: 51-42
Survey USA Nov 6: 50-44

Even if you give those with large margins each 4% for margin of error there is something big going on in Missouri.

2. I honestly think MJ Fox's ad supporting candidates
that endorse Stem Cell research pushed some undecided independent voters to the Dem side!

Just about everybody knows somebody with Parinson's Disease or Diabetes or any one of the dozens of ailments that could possibly helped by stem cell research.

Also, here in Kansas City, the Stowers family has dedicated BILLIONS of dollars to the construction and management of a medical research facility in the hopes of finding cures and treatments for diseases. If they can't be assured that it will be legal to use embryonic stem cells in some of their research, they may have to fund the research outside of the country...or outside of the state of Missouri.

4. new on point polls. Ford only down by 1%.
Missouri: McCaskill 49%, Talent 46% http://www.onpointpolling.com/pdf/MO_Survey_110606.pdf
Montana: Tester 49%, Burns 44% http://www.onpointpolling.com/pdf/MT_Survey_110606.pdf
New Jersey: Menendez 50%, Kean 41% http://www.onpointpolling.com/pdf/NJ_Survey_110606.pdf
Tennessee: Corker 48%, Ford 47% http://www.onpointpolling.com/pdf/TN_Survey_110606.pdf

Not sure at this point it makes any difference.

9. I Think There Was More Hype Over The Week-End Than Fact...
I don't really know, but it would seem so. I feel the same thing was pushed in MT too. We shall see.

Regardless whether it was or was NOT, it could have been a blessing in disguise to keep Democrats from "staying away" and making them GOTV!!

My daughter called me over the week-end in a tizzy and I told her not to get too worked up about it. She relies on me for her political updates even though she is active. But she works and can't devote as much time as I do. She called me this AM and said she watched the CWA (Country & Western Awards) last night and said she feels much better about TN now since Tim McGraw & Faith Hill were so vocal about Ford.

I myself DON'T "do" Country/Western, as a Boomer I still like my Rock 'n Roll new & old!!

If Webb doesn't win outright in VA, we probably won't know how the Senate will turn out for a while anyway! Too much CRAP was thrown around by Repukes in mere days before today!!

A lot happened here in my District in FL #13 and there has already been controversy about votes not counting in the Congressional Race between Jennings & Buchanan. Our local Supervisor, a clone of Cruella says she thinks it's ONLY the SAFE people who are complaining. We are the people who got the initiative on the ballot for a paper trail. Kathy Dent, A Republican is vehemently AGAINST this, so therefore ANY complaints will be ONLY from Democrats or those voting for Jennings... as per her statement!

The SECOND Witch we've had to deal with in this County/District!!!

These people are STILL playing DOWN & DIRTY!!!

11. McCaskill made some good moves, and good ads
she bought up a LOT of ad time for the final weeked months ago, which is one reason why her campaign coffers were so low in the last month. It also prevented Talent from buying more air time.

She's been running some great ads, and some very POSITIVE ones also, which really differentiated her from Talents "attack attack attack" ads. One ad (saw last night) was just positive pictures and music, the only spoken words were "I'm Claire McCaskill..." at the very end.

Also, some great pro-stem cell ads hit the airwaves over the final weekend. Like the one with the little girl with diabetes saying "stem cell research may find a cure, but Jim Talent voted against it. Why does he get to decide if I live or die?" Another one listed the 50+ medical research societies that support stem cell research, and said "Who do you trust - these doctors and medical societies, or this man?" (video of Rush doing his MJ Fox wobble)
