I am watching Kerry right now on CNN
If this guy can't beat Bush, no one can. We won't know if his talk is all BS or not until after he is sworn in as president. But I sure am willing to take a chance on him.

Don

1. Kerry Hasn't Changed His Tune In 18 Years
He's walked the walk.

10. He started this race talking about health care and national security
he's been talking about class a little bit, but usually tries to use the Vietnam Vets as his proxy for talking about class.

I don't think he'd talk about class so much if John Edwards didn't do so well in IA and SC.

And I think his tune will change away from class if he goes head to head with Bush in the GE, for the same reasons Gore couldn't talk about class with Bush II, but Clinton could against Bush I.

2. He's the Real Deal
He really is. Just look at his record and his speeches, ALL of it. He really can make a difference.

3. I respectfully disagree with your assessment of him
he is slow methodical and boring. He is using someone else's words not his and you can tell he isn't comfortable.

5. So?
Would you rather keep Bush, dullwitted and brain damaged from years of alcoholism, reciting other peoples' words?

Keep your eyes on the prize. We need to rid ourselves and the world of the Bush gang. If Kerry gets the nod, Kerry will be the one to do it.

6. I was watching him also
I wish he would speak in English rather than "high oratory."

He sounds like he's ready for the Lincoln/Douglas debates.

And it sounds elitist, phony, & pretentious.

Just my opinion.

12. why is he making it a point to sound so damn sonorous??!!
How unnerving. It's unnerving because he is imitating FDR....does he think people relate to depression-era style politicians speechifying? Good god!!!
It worked for FDR because of that particular era and who FDR was. Kerry just sounds ignorant.
Kerry: " Iiiiii-I... s-sounn-n-n-n-n-d soo-o-o-o-o presidential-l-l
....Iiiiiii-I am a Commandinn-n-n-n-ng presenc-c-c-c-ce."
Whatever....shut the hell up.

16. Well let's see
Reagan is still worshipped (sadly, even by some on the left).

Bush is praised as a great statesman.

Ollie North is considered a hero by many, has (or had) a radio show, etc.

How did Kerry hurt these guys again?

I give him credit for trying but you make it sound like he ruined these guys. They're all living the good life as we speak

17. One of those he actually did have ruined

Ollie North was convicted, sentenced to a long jail term, and stripped of his pension and rank by the USMC.

It's hardly Kerry's fault that a Reagan appointed judge over turned that conviction.

20. That's true
Again,I do give credit to Kerry for his role in this,I really do.But even in Ollie's case he's better off than he was before. He wasn't ruined at all.I know that's not Kerry's fault, but blm makes it sound as if these guys are eating bread and water in some cell somewhere :) Reagan and Bush weren't even scratched.
