BUSH
1968 — Graduates Yale. Joins Texas Air National Guard. Takes eight-week leave to work on Senate campaign in Florida.

1969 — Graduates flight school at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.

1970 — Graduates Combat Crew Training School at Ellington Air Force Base in Texas.
1971 — Participates in drills and alerts at Ellington. Begins work for Houston-based agricultural company.

1972 — Continues drills at Ellington. Last flight as a guard member is in April. Moves to Alabama to work on Senate campaign. Assigned to guard National Guard units in Alabama; no record of him reporting for duty there but Bush says he did participate. Loses flight credentials after missing physical exam. Returns to Texas in December.

1973 — Participates in non-flying drills at Ellington in May-July; early in year works at inner-city poverty program. In fall attends Harvard Business School. Placed on inactive guard duty about six months before six-year commitment ends.

5. He's often mentioned Volunteerism in speeches....
A reprise of Ronnie's "thousand points of light".

There is no question that he did volunteer work here in Houston back in '73. We just don't know why.

Too bad some reporter won't ask him to amplify upon that period of time. Surely he has some heartwarming anecdotes to recount!

9. I'd heard his volunteer work was at a church run program there?
Had an "Open Door", "Guiding Light" kind of name I believe. I may be off about his role at the place. It's just a gut feeling with me, figuring Poppy and Barb would want him to get his act together - I'm originally from New England and know how quickly, quietly and effectively pressure to protect the family name is put into play by the old Mayflower establishment families.

If I hadn't read it, don't know how much longer it would have been before I finally knew John Kerry had been shot, also, like Clark.

Better late than never.

Quite a bit of difference in the records of the two Demcrats vs. Bush. Thanks a lot!

3. Y'know, this just beats the HELL out of Nixxon's gap!
All he had was 18-and-a-half minutes of analog tape that got erased. bu$h saw that and raised him a whole year!
