What about this Pew study the wingnuts are trumpeting?
I keep hearing rightwing media people claiming that it proves that they not only won't suffer losses, but will not make gains

5. Pew is generally held out as "liberal" institution
although I haven't seen much evidence of that lately.

6. It's a national poll that shows Dems in a 4 point lead. Their celebration
is obviously out of desperation.

10. In that poll it says 10% are undecided, which I also find hard to believe
I prefer an analysis of individual races:

7. An "outlier" on the national generic question... hard to give it much
Edited on Mon Nov-06-06 01:02 AM by featherman
validity without a deep look into its internals. Meaningless at this point, IMO. But if you want to factor it in the guessing game combine it with the TIME poll (11/1-11/3) which shows the DEMs generically up 15... so averaging just these two give the DEMS a 9.5% lead in the generic.
As I said...meaningless. The whole deal is on the ground now... turnout wins.

9. The Time poll taken durning the same time as Pew Gives Dems a 55% to 40% lead.
National polls will vary from one pollster to the next. Point is they vary. Please forgive the Murdock link: <http://www.nypost.com/seven/11052006/news/nationalnews/poll_puts_dems_lead_at_15_pts__nationalnews_chris_michaud.htm>

11. Good. We want them to feel smug and comfy.
So comfy that they won't feel they have to compromise their own consciences with a vote for those nasty corrupt people who are nothing like they promised. Yes, indeedy. We want them to feel secure.

12. I'm not a statistician.....but
.... if it is true, as has been said here and elsewhere, that your smarter folks don't waste their time answering polls and surveys (especially telehpne polls) ......AND , if it turns out that the predictions based on these studies are correct.......DOES it not mean that the same percentage of smart people vote for anus-crevice Republicans as idiots do?

This would not be encouraging from a state of humanity standpoint.

15. It was weighted more heavily to repukes, the opposite
of other polls. That's the ONLY reason it's more favorable to the little weasels.
