This is great-- Clark and George Jones
First Michael Moore, then Madonna, now George Jones

This is a radio ad.

George Jones: "This is George Jones. You know I've never done anything like this before, but I feel so strongly about where our country is headed, that I want to share with you why I'm supporting General Wes Clark for President. Wes Clark has dedicated his whole life to three principles, duty, honor, and country. And he shares the same values that you and I share here in Tennessee. Wes Clark knows what it means to put his life and career on the line for this country, and he'll put the nation's interests first - not the Washington special interests. I'm George Jones. Like Wes Clark, I'm no career politician, but I know a leader when I see one, and that's why I'm asking you to vote for Wes Clark for President on Tuesday."

Voice: "Paid for by Clark 04"

Wes Clark: "This is Wes Clark and I approve this message."

I went back 5 pages to make sure this isn't a dupe, sorry if it is.

1. My opinion of George Jones just sky rocketed. I am going to buy one of his
albums now. This should help Clark as Jones is very well respected. Not flashy just a guy speaking his peace.

6. Get a chance to see him while you can...
George Jones is one of the greats, up there with Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. He just did a tour last year, and plans another if his health holds up.

Anyone remember his songs? "The Race Is On" and "She Still Thinks That I Still Care"?

13. "He Stopped Loving Her Today"
Gotta be the greatest country song ever written. And I'm not even a fan of the man's music.

15. I love both of them
I really like "Who's Gonna fill Their Shoes" When he sang that in the 80's, I don't think he realized all the pop crap that was going to come out of Nashville today.

2. Aah, yes, George Jones. . . arrested in 1999. . .
when he crashed his truck into an overpass. It took 2 hours to cut him out of the wreckage. He hit the overpass, he said, because he was fiddling with the buttons of his tape deck. We know this to be true because he was gabbing with his daughter on a cellphone at the time. He might have missed the overpass, though, had he not been drunk. Yeah. George Jones. Good thing no one intelligent was hurt in that accident.

4. You forget
He is a Nashville ICON! If there is one thing TN is proud of, it's their country music mecca. Play those George Jones commercials there, and you'll have pick-ups all over the parking lot, turning out for someone the good 'ol boy says to vote for.

They don't see him as a drunk... they see him as George f*ckin' Jones. You sow sour grapes? Hell, those boys squish 'em into wine.

5. Granted, but even the Chimp
had at least one car wreck under the influence, that we know of.

8. I don't deny it. . .
it's the purpose of my post. I won't be a hypocrite and hold Shrub to a standard I then ignore when it serves my purposes.

14. I will with out reservation.
I have no qualms about holding the Chimp to any perjorative standard I can think of.
No matter what I can add or detract, he is 1000 time worse.

How many deaths is George Jones responsible for?

3. God bless George Jones
I have always respected him as the "real thing" regarding country music.
Now its even more so. This is bound to infurriate rural Neocons - if any such animal exits.

7. GJ's endorsement would play well in most of Texas, also.
People here still love him, especially the older crowd. SOunds like a great ad.

9. I am assuming George Jones is a C&W singer
(Yes, I live in Montana and have managed to remain ignorant of that genre.)

That is a fantastic ad and targeting the right people for sure!
