Lieberman thugs attack
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 01:21 PM by LiviaOlivia
Remember the primary when Joe sent his staffers to Ted’s in Meriden to start a fight with Ned and campaign staff? Well … they are at it again.

Today at an event in Hartford, at a senior center, Joe “volunteers” swarmed the “stand up for change” bus and pressed their bodies against the vehicle, not allowing the doors to open and anyone to exit.

When the bus moved and the door was partially opened for Ned and staff, Joe’s “volunteers” rushed the bus again, violently screaming in the door. Ned was never able to make it off the bus and into the senior center.

1. Disgraceful. I hope that gets full coverage in CT so all can see
the 'grown-up' they're thinking of electing.

2. So Lieberman is now employing...
...the same group of people that stormed Miami-Dade in 2000?

3. This is just unbelievable...
...that any grown man would allow things like this to be done. What in the hell is WRONG with Joe Lieberman??? He does this at a Seniors' Center? This is just totally unacceptable anywhere ~~ but at a Seniors' Center??????

Frankly, if I had been there ~~ and I am a little old female senior ~~ I would have made my way to that bus and gotten rid of those thugs by telling them that I was going to the door of the bus and that is anyone of them even thought about touching me, they would be extremely sorry. Out would come my camera and I would walk the hell forward...followed by about six other people with cameras.

5. What a strange campaign...a link from the same OP cite:
Maybe JoeMentum's thugs are blaming Ned for these yahoos...

http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-lieberman1103.artnov03,0,5916908.story

...Lieberman lasted maybe 15 minutes before he was heckled from the restaurant by young Lyndon LaRouche supporters, who kept popping up along the bar like gophers coming out of their holes.

Singing loudly - but in perfect harmony - and throwing handfuls of fake dollar bills into the air over Lieberman's head, the LaRouche crew seemed to stun the older crowd of Lieberman supporters who gathered to hobnob with the sitting senator.

Lieberman entered the bar about 7 p.m., just as the debate between Lamont and Schlesinger started playing on one of the large television screens. As he walked in, with a close-up of Lamont's head looming over the room, a LaRouche supporter, disguised in a wig and make-up as conservative columnist William F. Buckley, began yelling and throwing green "Buckley Bucks."

Soon, the singing began.

"If you want a third world war, vote for Joe, Bill Buckley's whore," the LaRouche supporters sang....

7. Must be the mindset...
Vote like a Republican, act like a Republican.

What a disgraceful story. Win or lose next Tuesday, Joe has a lot of explaning to do, and fences to mend. His own conduct in this camapign isn't much better than that of the thugs who seem to support him.

12. Well I guess that settles it. Joe is a rethuglican... they're the ones that
work to suppress the vote. Democrats don't want to suppress the vote, we want EVERYONE to have a fair chance to cast their legal and lawful ballot. And yes, I realize this wasn't a "balloting," just an "event." But the intent is still the same. Joe's "volunteers" were trying to stop Lamont from even having a chance to speak his piece. Those aren't Democratic tactics. Lieberman is just a rethuglican in Democratic/Independent clothing.

13. Looks To Me Like CT Independents Simply Aren't That Anti-War!
I simply cringe every time I hear Mr. Lie spouting off! Said Ned Lamont has sooooooooo much money, but neglects to state that he's OUT SPENT him!

I wish I had some "fairy dust" to sprinkle on those who think this narcissist is the best thing for CT! And of course, it's our very own Dems who ARE afraid of what Mr. Lie may do, if he wins!! Had they simply mounted an assault AGAINST him from day one I think Lamont would have taken him several months back. I simply don't understand how Democratic leaders who are supporting him can't realize how "their base" really feels about this! I'm really really upset with many of them!

The only person who has given Lamont ANY money of late is Harkin and that was only $1,000.00. There was some given early on, $5,000.00 here and there, but mostly they sold Lamont down the river!

Any to you Mr. Lie, oh I can't say what I want to!!! I wish you many SLEEPLESS nights anyway!!!

14. This story is just so very odd
I mean, Joe's going to win, there's no doubt about that, is there? He says it's so over and over again, and all the polls back him up, and Lamont doesn't stand a chance.

But roving gangs of thugs? Is that how a winner comports himself? Or is that how a sore loser deals with the stress of impending defeat? Something tells me this race isn't quite over, despite all the cocksure pronouncements coming out of Lieberman's camp and his new bestest friends.

Just like before the primary.

19. Why were the police not called?
I'd have certainly pressed charges. Besides, anything that gets more well deserving republicans arrested is fine with me. Just beware, the night of broken glass can't be far away if these are the tactics they are resorting to. Be Careful Ned!
