a gaff or not, the victory wasn't ours to begin with. I believe we will win on Tuesday and capture at least the House, and I feel better and better about the Senate.
If McCaskill loses, it will not be because of Kerry. The same holds true of Webb, Casey, Brown, Ford, etc.
If folks are that easily bent to vote for their congressional representative based on what one person says who ISN"T EVEN RUNNING-then the country has slipped past the point of no return and cannot be fixed even if we capture an overwhelming majority. If that is in fact the case, we have a much bigger problem than any joke told by anyone!
In a much larger context, Kerry has worked hard for this country and has spoken out, albeit not to the satisfaction of some. His comments were correct and although I don't personally think he should have apologized, he did it to move the issue off the front pages. If the thugs keep playing on it after the apology, then it is clear they have nothing to run on which is the real message. I have faith in the candidates to be able to stay on their messages and point out that their opponents have nothing new to offer and/or are corrupt and should be thrown out. If we don't have faith in our candidates to do that, then why are we voting for them in the first place, whether they are dems or not? Has KKKarl Rove got us so shaken we cannot stand up for ourselves? I realize we cannot trust him and them BUT we have to fight that by trusting in ourselves more. If we focus on what he does rather than what we CAN do, we have already lost and we are right where he wants us.
I believe we can win big on Tuesday.
