Younger Democratic voters demand winner -- anyone but Bush, they say
By MECHELE COOPER

Staff Writer

Lisa Reinhalter took time off from her studies at Colby College to campaign for John Kerry in New Hampshire last month.

The 20-year-old immediately jumped into the fray; she made phone calls, knocked on doors and stood on street corners holding signs.

Fluent in Spanish, she volunteered to go with a Kerry representative to Hispanic neighborhoods to talk to voters about the candidate and why he should be president.

"I've never taken any political action, but I've been reading the papers and getting really angry and frustrated," Reinhalter said Friday. "Kerry has a good chance of beating Bush in the next election. People I talk to aren't necessarily supporting a specific candidate. Everyone says as long as we can beat Bush."

4. There are four "major" democratic candidates
and so its fair to say that there are four large groups of supporters of these four: Kerry, Dean, Edwards, and Clark. Clearly, at least two of the four will not be on the ticket, and very possibly three. Yes, of course it matters who is the candidate, but equally important is the level of maturity of those backing the others. The bush folks are really hoping that huge numbers of, for example, Dean supporters will be immature, and "drop out" of the political process. Listen: each candidate alone is a finger that the bush people can TWIST in the media and break....but these four fingers together form a powerful fist! And so it's GOOD NEWS when a college student goes into any neighborhood, and listens to the hopes and concerns of any person who opposes bush. Unity creates power.

2. All democrats want to win.
We have a good front runner and a lot of backup. A great one from Nc, a former General, and a great populist.
