Which Republican Senators are up for re-election in 2008 ?
I think we may see an earth-shaking change in many of these Republicans after the 2006 election? If the Democrats do not win the Senate, they will come mighty damn close. At least close enough to scare the hell out of the Repubs that will be running in 2008. Because the bullseyes will be on their chests after this election. I suspect we will see personality changes in many of the most right-wing of the bunch. They will see the writing on the wall. The Democrats may have to wait until 2008 to take over the Senate. Some of the Repub rubber-stampers will be involuntarily retired.

2. Norm "The Weasel" Coleman (Assclown - MN).
The ethics-free scum-sucking dirtbag who now holds Paul Wellstone's Senate seat, causing a horrendous disturbance in the Force. I can hardly wait to get his sorry ass tossed onto the pavement in '08.

7. I somehow think that Senator Stevens is going to decide not to run again
making that an open seat. Something about FBI raids in Alaska, investigations into Steven's son getting huge $ from firms that have gotten govt goodies from Sen Stevens... In two years... he's toast.

13. Wasn't Dole elected in 2004?
She wouldn't up until 2010, if I'm not mistaken.

14. 21 Republicans defending in 2008, 12 Democrats...overall, good news.
Of those, Landrieu barely was elected in 2002...but that's when President Bush's approval rating was 75%. If she continues to fight for the people of her state on Katrina-related issues, she'll be reelected in a landslide.

On the Republican side, several people could retire. Ted Stevens is old, but it would be hard for a Democrat to win in Alaska. Susan Collins may have pledged to term limits, and Maine is a very liberal state. If John Warner retires in Virginia, Mark Warner could easily pick up his Senate seat.

18. Do we know which dems are?
I know Kerry is, and he should be safe, and I think Biden is too. I would imagine Durbin is since Obama isn't until 2010. Anyone know?

20. Dick Durbin is safe in Illinois.
Count on the IL Pukes having another bloodbath in their primary just like they did in 2004.

Who knows maybe Alan Keyes will move back to IL and run again....
