If nothing else, the congressman is guilty of using terrible judgment. Add to this his role in a Congress that has failed to demand answers from the president concerning the decision to enter Iraq, the troubling execution of policy that allowed the war on terror to morph into war in Iraq, and the messy execution of policy once we got in. There is also the general silence in Congress as the president has used the war on terror and Homeland Security issues to come dangerously close to infringing on privacy and civil rights.
Curt Weldon has served the 7th District well for 20 years. He’s been a fighter for our needs.
We believe Joe Sestak can do likewise. We believe he can use his military background to bring a fresh perspective to foreign policy and national security. We urge him to follow Weldon’s lead and become a stickler for delivering jobs and money to the district.
This 7th District race has been one we’d like to see repeated, involving real debate, real issues, and a real choice for voters.
In a close race between two solid candidates, our vote goes to the challenger.
