Dems must emphatically say that will not take away the $1000 child tax credit!
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 11:06 AM by flpoljunkie
Bush repeated this bald-faced lie yesterday, and Ken Melhman said today on FACE THE NATION, "Charlie Rangel will raise your taxes across the board." Dean did not effectively refute this lie. He said something to the effect that "Democrats are not planning any big across the board tax increases," and mentioned something about getting rid of the oil and gas subsidies-which frankly are not enough to make a big difference in the massive federal deficit.

This is all the Rethugs have left--the "Democrats will raise your taxes bogeyman," and they are mercilessly flogging it.

Democrats, do not let them get away with it again!

1. Except that the child tax credit is $1,000 - so you're wanting the
Dems to take away $500 of it?

3. This is what Bush said yesterday in a speech. You are right, it's now $1,000.

The Democrats still need to say they will not eliminate the child tax credit to counteract the Republican's lies. Too many folks believe this!

Believe it or not, this has been scrubbed from most of the AP articles, but I found the original, uncached article here. I guess the Bushies wanted this error scrubbed.

Bush Campaigns on Pocketbook Issues
By JENNIFER LOVEN

SARASOTA, Fla. Oct 24, 2006 (AP)— Look around the dinner table and add $500 to your tax bill for each child, President Bush said Tuesday as he sought to convince voters that Democrats would destroy the economy and the family budget if they took over Congress.

"When you go to the voting booth in two weeks, the lever you pull will determine the taxes you pay for years to come," Bush said on a fundraising swing through Florida aimed at adding nearly $1.4 million to GOP coffers. "You will feel the results every April 15."

And, from USA Today... http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-28-bush-address_x.htm

"If Democrats have their way, the child tax credit will be cut in half — from $1,000 per child to just $500 per child," Bush said. "And think of what that means for your family. Next time you're having dinner at home, look around the table and multiply the number of children you have by $500. That's how much more you will be sending to Washington in taxes if Democrats take control of the Congress."

2. Bush ALSO said dems wouldn't investigate or even detain terrorists
And the sheeple in his audience cheered. Some will believe whatever he says.

I think that "no middle class tax cuts" refutes the bush swill effectively
