The Democrats still need to say they will not eliminate the child tax credit to counteract the Republican's lies. Too many folks believe this!
Believe it or not, this has been scrubbed from most of the AP articles, but I found the original, uncached article here. I guess the Bushies wanted this error scrubbed.

Look around the dinner table and add $500 to your tax bill for each child, President Bush said Tuesday as he sought to convince voters that Democrats would destroy the economy and the family budget if they took over Congress."When you go to the voting booth in two weeks, the lever you pull will determine the taxes you pay for years to come," Bush said on a fundraising swing through Florida aimed at adding nearly $1.4 million to GOP coffers. "You will feel the results every April 15."
And, from USA Today...
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-28-bush-address_x.htm"If Democrats have their way, the child tax credit will be cut in half — from $1,000 per child to just $500 per child," Bush said. "And think of what that means for your family. Next time you're having dinner at home, look around the table and multiply the number of children you have by $500. That's how much more you will be sending to Washington in taxes if Democrats take control of the Congress."
