Where can Dean win?
If he can't win in Washington, with some of the most liberal democratic voters and who have been very receptive to his message in the past, the question has to be asked, where can he win?

7. Great joke
At least I think you were joking... I mean, you don't actually think Dean's main supporters are blue-collar down-to-earth voters, do you?

In poll after poll, they vote for Kerry. Did you not see who won Michigan today???

Dean winning Louisiana. That is just too funny.

27. You can't predict Louisiana
The political atmosphere there defies any formula you can write. I'd even give Kucinich a chance over there.

Do you think these questions will help warm the hearts of Dean supporters to your candidate kerry, should he win the nomination ?

Why are you doing this ?

15. I missed the earlier thread.
And I responded to this thread without knowing of any affiliation between the original poster and a particular candidate. As one who has not declared for anyone yet, I do think that it is a fair question to raise. I like Dean but I am questioning his viability at this point. I am in Seattle, and not only was I surprised at his showing here, but the polls that I saw today were pretty ominous for WI, VA and TN. It is worthy of discussion IMO.

16. It's a 'tactic' - attack Dean - but not Clark, Sharpton, or Kucinich
who have less delegates than Dean, and who ( with the exception of Clark) are less viable.

The Kerry supporters who covet OUR support, organization, and fundraising so badly best look at how these negative tactics by DU Kerry supporters against Dean are hurting their candidate.

19. Sorry, I still think that it is a valid discussion.
I don't see anything wrong with discussing ALL of the candidates viability. I have seen threads asking when other candidates may leave the race etc. I also have seen many of Dean's people use some pretty nasty tactics in the past. I certainly wouldn't let that have any impact on my vote. That seems pretty short-sighted and petty to me.

"Tough Question for Dean supporters

Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 04:32 PM by ringmastery

If your man can't win in Washington state, a state with some of the most liberal democratic voters in the country, where can Dean win?

Why is he still in the race? Is he to become a vanity candidate like Kucinich and Sharpton?

30. I'd say that right now, Dean, Kucinich and Sharpton
are equally viable for the nomination. They're also tied with Joe Lieberman, Dick Gephardt, Carol Moseley-Braun and Bob Graham. The only questions remaining about Dean is how he'll behave after he drops out and whether he'll be speaking at the convention (and when).

9. Let me explain something to you
Some people back a candidate (and this includes Kerry supporters who stayed with him even when he was at rock bottom) because they BELIEVE in something that candidate has to say not because of some perceived notion of winability. Get it?

10. Unfortunately I just don't know.
He seems to be betting a lot on WI and he is running fourth at 9% there. I fear that the Doctor will have a very hard time staying in the race if he gets slammed in WI.

I wonder if he's pissed about being chased away from this nomination. It;s clear that Edwards or Hillary will be the favorites next time unless Kerry wins.
