3. Found this...

Looking a bit closer, we notice that One Nation is an industry shill or front group, made up of those who compete with Tribally-owned businesses: Notably, QuikTrip, the Oklahoma Association of Convenience Stores, Oklahoma Petroleum Marketers' Association and Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. We didn't mention Farm Bureau, because when its members found out that they were being counted as the 180,000 families claimed as the racist group's membership, Farm Bureau members didn't take too kindly to the association, and it caused internal uproar which resulted in some people quitting the company, resigning their posts, etc.

If you look really, really close, One Nation United is an even more insidious creature, although its IRS classification is misnomered as a 501(c)(4) social benefit organization. Its inner workings are embedded in the type of skunkworks which gave us "Swiftboat Veterans for Truth" and "Cindy, You Don't Speak For Me." Yep, the outfit was born and bred by political strategists: Cothran Development Strategies in Ada, affiliated with Wilson Research Strategies, a subsidiary of Qorvis. If you google Qorvis and spell it correctly, before long you will find them in with the "K" Street crowd, rehabilitating the image of the Saudi Royal Family in the aftermath of 9/11 and managing other political crises. One Nation United's new leader, who doesn't even live in Oklahoma, claims some credit for the California petition drive which ousted Governor Gray Davis.

And their website, which is linked in the above article, appears to be gone.

5. You're welcome.

Not sure to which article of yours you refer? But if you're writing about One Nation, make sure to note it's an OK group trying to mess in AZ politics. I've been in AZ only a short time but I get the impression "carpetbaggers" aren't welcome here.

Also, if you need additional info: names and such, here's a SourceWatch link: link

And an interesting article I found written by their national director, Barbara Marie Lindsey, about Hawaiian "tribal government":

edit: word order matters and to fix link

One Nation Merges with United Property Owners

December 29, 2004

One Nation, Inc., the Oklahoma-based energy and agriculture coalition that has stirred nationwide attention by raising public awareness over what it calls "flawed federal Indian policies" will merge with a twenty-year-old grassroots organization based in Redmond, Washington, and Thousand Oaks, California, with members in 38 additional states.

Newly formed One Nation United, a 501(c) 4 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, will emerge from the combination of One Nation and United Property Owners, a group with more than 100,000 members based in Washington State since its inception in the 1980s. The new organization made up of thousands of individuals and companies in energy, agriculture, retailing, and manufacturing as well as local governments, elected officials, law enforcement and community groups, will begin operation on January 1, 2005.

Barb Lindsay, a founder and the only Executive Director in UPO's history, will be National Director and Spokesperson.

Mickey Thompson, President of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association (OIPA), and well-known oilman and politico Mike Cantrell, founded One Nation in 2002. Cantrell has resigned his position with the original One Nation organization and is not involved in the new entity, which will be headquartered in California.
